Sedona is awesome, but closer to Phoenix is the ride out east to Tortilla Flats - lots of 90's and some 180 degree twists and turns, AND they have a pretty decent breakfast and lunch menu waiting for you too. The store itself is almost like walking through an AZ museum, and dollar bills are stapled everywhere on the walls - very cool! - all paved roads too.

Also, check this website:  http://www.cyclerides.com/
Barry Carraway has ridden every road in AZ and hasw lots of good tips for enjoying this great state on a bike. Ride safe and enjoy! [smiley=banana.gif]

Go to www.cyclerides.com He has day rides from Phoenix.  All the ones mentioned in this thread plus maps and mileage.  My favorites are:
1. tortilla flats
2. Yarnell Hill
3. Jerome
4. Sedona
5. Oak Creek Canyon
6.  Highway 64 through the Grand Canyon from South entrance and out the East entrance
This should be a good start
Enjoy

Your timing is not great.  There was an article in the local paper that said the Phoenix housing market appreciated higher than any other in the country over the last 12 months.  Recently, things have cooled down with houses taking longer to sell and the number of listings dramatically increasing.  Most people looking at a starter house are moving to the outskirts where land is more affordable.  These areas include Anthem, Avondale, and East Mesa/Apache Junction.  A lot depends on your budget.  Expect to pay minimum 250k-350k in the outskirts.  If you like Scottsdale, 450k+  If you have more questions feel free to pm me.

With more houses on the market, it'll quickly become a buyers market.

Iroar.......what kind of home does that 450k get you?  What size home, what size lot?
