He seemed to be a natural on my bike.
I got to spend some time with him on Saturday.
He is a very interesting man charged with an awesome responsibility!
Anyone recognize him?

I met him this past Saturday and got about 30 minutes to talk with him.
He was very interesting and seems to be trying to get the MOCO on track.

Rally was held at Harley Davidson of Charlotte.

Not undercover.
We set up a "Town Hall" meeting on the rally site for him, the plant manager from York and Arnie Beaman to answer questions from the rally attendees.

A great opportunity to give your opinions and say your piece.

I spend a lot of time with guys at his level. It's not uncommon for them to listen closer in these encounters than they listen to their own employees. Things they hear "on the road" tend to stick.

Hopefully he heard things that will cause him to ask questions of his team.

I am pretty sure he did not like letting all those workers go.

However a company, be it Harley or any other company has to make a profit, and has to make it's share holders happy. If Production is down a lot due to people not buying bikes, you can not continue to pay people to do nothing. The company looses money.

That is part of what hurt the American car companies, Union forcing them to keep several thousand employees on the payroll even when they were not needed and just sitting there collecting a check.

I hope this man, earns his money and helps keep Harley going another 100 years. I hope he figures out how to get younger customers into buying a harley. I hope with lower production he can put more focus on quality.

I hope that you had an oppertunity to give him a card for this site and encouraged him to "feel the pulse" of what "real" consumers of his product are saying.

Their was no need to give him a CVO card, HD is very aware of this site and usually read the posts.

I had about 30 minutes with Keith Wandell last Saturday.
I asked him some tough questions and he gave good answers.
It was a conversation in which he seemed genuinely interested in my concerns.
I hoped that the time with me was more than just good public relations.
One of the concerns I expressed with him was about how much the Motor Company valued their core customers.
I told him I knew that "new blood" and women were the direction marketing was headed but it was the core customers that had gotten the Motor Company where they were today. I told him I was concerned that "we" would be forgotten. That was last Saturday. Yesterday I received a hand written note from him telling me again that he would not forget the Motor Companies "core" customers.
This man is a doer, this man is a leader and I am impressed.
I wish him well and good luck running the company.
