Time after time while riding the fairing trim would come out and flap in the wind till I pushed it back in place. This would happen on hot days. While installing my HID lighting, I tried some Edge Trim I picked up at my local auto parts store and it works perfect! It's a little thicker and goes right in place. I went on a 600+ mile ride this past weekend in 90+ temps and no problems. If anyone takes on the project , when you remove the old trim, leave the old glue on, THIS WILL HELP IN STICKING WITH THE NEW GLUE. Hope this helps.....

Did the same thing to my '08, and I agree it works great.  I think it looks a lot better also.  I heated the molding with a heat gun to soften the glue and make the bends easier.  I have about 1500 miles on it, and it hasn't moved. 

I also put a piece of the chrome trim on the bottom of the windshield.  It looks better than nothing, but I'm thinking about the Kuryakyn piece now.

Very simple, remove the fairing, pull off the old trim, measure the length and cut, place the new trim on. On the bends you may have to use a dryer or heat gun to mold it (I did not have to).

For others considering this if you look around a bit these door edge trims are available in lots of different colors also.  Might be able to coordinate with your paint scheme a bit.  I used some gold on my little trailer a couple years ago and have used others on other projects over the years.  Am thinking a dark dark red would work well here against the midnight red outer fairing on the old 2000 SERG.
