which shoei open face?
« on: June 15, 2010, 05:16:57 PM »

I am looking at the Shoei RJ-Platinum R and the Shoei J-Wing.

What is the real difference besides the face shield and price?  I am choosing the Shoei brand because of how it fits without any hot spots.

I actually have both of these helmets.  The J-Wing is good if you plan to ride mostly with the shield down.  The shield is pretty big so it's going to catch a lot of air if you try to ride with it up.  I prefer the RJ-Platinum R because I like the wind in my face and I carry a generic snap on shield in case I hit some rain.  My J-Wing is XXL and white with both clear and tinted shields.  It has only been very slightly used and I'd be willing to sell it if you are interested.
