Amsoil Fluid Change
« on: August 03, 2010, 03:55:21 PM »

Just did my 1000 mile service today & have always used Amsoil in all my vehicles for the last 30yrs or so, to long to remember.

This time I did it a little different, yes I had extra time on my hands today.

First, I changed the motor oil only to 20/50w, rode the bike for about 1/2 hr & the oil temp was about 6 degrees cooler then before changing.

Second, I came back to my garage & changed the Trans to Severe Gear Oil 75/140w, & rode bike for another 1/2 hr & no more banging into gear, a lot less noise in the trans & neutral was much easier to find.
The bike came from the factory/dealer with 1/2 quart oil low & 1/3 quart low in the trans, would not even show on the stick before change. Checked both as soon as I got home with my new ride about two weeks ago.
Third I changed the Primary 20/50w, noticed no difference.
Is it just me, or does any engine run better when we switch them over to Amsoil?
Mike

Mike I have always used Amsoil 20/50 in my motors but I use Redline in my tranny and primary. Much better than the Syn 3 or Formula Plus. :2vrolijk_21:
