European Sales Up
« on: September 07, 2010, 05:31:18 PM »

European motorcycle manufacturers have reported sales increases this summer.

Ducati North America says sales in Canada, Mexico, and the United States improved by about seven percent in July, compared with July 2009. Demand for the new Multistrada 1200 is heavy, the company says, and the new Monster 796 reached North American dealerships in that month.

The Piaggio Group, which sells Aprilia and Moto Guzzi motorcycles as well as Piaggio and Vespa scooters, suffered declining sales in North America during the first half of this year, partly due to a temporary cessation of sales in Canada as distributorship changed hands, but due to a hot Vietnam market, sales of scooters increased enough to show an overall six percent worldwide improvement.

BMW enjoyed a sales increase of about four percent worldwide in July compared to the same month a year earlier. The R1200GS is BMW's best-seller, the company said. BMW's total motorcycle sales were up 19 percent for the year, compared to the previous year.

They did right and stayed in their business, not like the MOCO
who tried to setup a financial branch and failed. Burried a lot
of money, which could be used elsewhere.
