Metzeler 140/70/21 anyone currently running this tire?
« on: October 14, 2010, 09:05:53 PM »

I am installing this on my 2010 CVO Street Glide this weekend and am interested in what method was used on the stock fender.
Hogpro and Covington Customs make fender adapters but have only been tested on the 120/70/21 tires? Neither works with the 140 tire

This 140 tire has a larger contact patch and should deliver a better ride?

The CVO SESG fender is 3/4" shorter than the stock Street Glide fender. The radius bracket to bracket is 15" on the CVO and 16.5" on the Stock Street Glide

Any input is welcome (except other tire options, this is the path I've chosen and paid for)

If you are aware of another source for an adapter bracket it would be very helpful. If not I may be making my own?

Would not work on my 04

Too close for comfort on the bracket

Went back to the 120

What size width front rim are you running and how high did it raise the front of the bike?
Have also been thinking of going to this tire on my 21" front rim.
Thanks,
Tim

Rim is 21" x 3.5"
Stock CVO fender is being raised between 2.125 and 2.25 for clearance tire is approx. 1.8" taller.

Stock fender can raise .75 less as it is that much difference from the SESG or SERG fenders to the stock touring fenders.
