For what it is worth, my dealer said about 4000 Ultras, with approximately 1800 of those in haze. How he came up with those numbers, I haven't a clue! [smiley=jalapeno.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif] at that rate, 12000 TOTAL SE bike would not be unimaginable. (I think Harley was looking to produce 400,000 units total in 2006.)

Not sure how the MoCo's VIN numbering system works but if you look at FR8TRN's registry the numbers span just a little over 4700 at this point. Wonder how much longer they will be shipping???? :-/

Here are a couple of articles that mention production numbers. Both were written in October 2005. I hope the links work:

Thanks Hawgwash, the numbers don't agree between articles, so who knows. I have a hard time believing that they would make 12,000 of the SE Ultra.

I felt like most of you, that 12,000 would be a VERY big leap from past numbers. The sites Hawgwash say 12,000 and 4,000 units. I am looking at a 2001 FXDWG2 with production of about 1,750, so to build up to 12,000 for the Ultra would be a streach. I still love the bike! I was always under the impression that TOTAL production was 4,000 units, just my impression. That's why 12,000 suprised me enough that I asked ya-all.  Wrongway

Could be 12,000 SE's period, not specific to the Ultra.

As long as the money is on the street and people will spend it on there bikes HD will produce a number of bikes that they think they can sell.i don't think their intention was to produce a rare bike in low production numbers it just doesn't make sense for them to tool up .As the years progress I think you will see the numbers of CVO bikes stay the same or increase as demand

All they did to create the CVO bikes, other than the paint, was to delete regular production parts and replace them with parts from the accessory catalog.

I called the customer service line at Harley HQ. I spoke with "John" and asked about the numbers. Here are the "official" numbers according to the factory.

11,000 total CVO bikes

4000 Ultra's (Color amounts will vary according to demand)

3900 Fatboys

2600 Vrods

500 Vrod Destroyer's

I hope this helps.

When I put my deposit down on mine, the owner of the dealership told me mine was the last one they would get including bonus units they were due.
