Which jack to use on my FXR3?
« on: February 17, 2011, 07:49:00 PM »

Currently, I have the sears red mc jack, and tried to use it on the bike but the kick stand is in an odd spot on these bikes. Who's using what jack for these bikes? Thanks

ive got a sears jack as well for my FXR (although my wife bought me the aluminum one as a gift) but had much the same problem...

i bolted a couple chunks of 2X4 to the jack platform and while it doesnt clear the K-stand it DOES clear the K-stand spring now

I use the red Sears jack, but I took off the front wheels so it would slide (with a little effort) under the bike.

I have the same jack.  I use the extensions that came with the jack.  To get clearance under the bike to insert the jack, I roll the bike up on a block of 2x6 in the front and one under the back wheel.  Works great.

I figured it out. I just had to put it further back than I do on my touring bike, to clear the kick stand. But it works fine and has been on the jack for a few weeks now.
