Quick cheap easy trick for saddlebag latch pins
« on: March 13, 2011, 08:38:48 PM »

I hope this wasn't covered before I didn't search the forum.
while waxing the saddlebags on my Krypto after returning from Bike Week, the washers got "lost" in the bottom of the bag. I solved it by sliding on an O-ring smaller than the shaft and pushing it all the way up against the washer.....problem solved no more separated pins and washers!  Just pick up a few extra o-rings as the twist grove is sharp and will cut the o-ring if your not careful putting it on!

first time attaching pictures hope I did it correct        yep it worked

Good idea.  Another approach that I use is to glue the washer to the rubber grommet.  Either way should keep you from having to fish around in the bottom of the bags for the washer.
