I visited Corbin on Tuesday this week.

I plan to go back in next Tuesday and have them 'build' me a matching seat to the moco one.

The only way to do it is to go personally....the guys are OK but really don't know what we have until they SEE it...

So, I went to Corbin. Six hours later with the help of Philip and the magic of George the artisan, we had recreated a Corbin version of the Moco SEEG seat. I was there with Don- another CVO guy from San Diego with a SEEG and together we learned from what he had tried before and what I needed.

Good news- its a really close match (I think closer than the MOCO seat), it is a Corbin and my a$$ loves it, my wallet hurts (a little), the back rest is a much better arrangement, all the miscellaneous stuff under the MOCO seat is gone, so is the hand rail (although you could put it back)- I will post additional pictures- I don't know how to get more than one per post.

Bad (?) News- Its $599 for the seat and $249 for the Back rest. No discount YET- I am willing to gather the names of those who want the same as I have and go back down and renegotiate so let me know either by PM or here....(Military/Fire/Police can get 10%) While they have a seat heater- it requires a bizarre sewing pattern- so its gone- (and my alternator is happy).

Comments- Back rest seems high to look at but works well- I decided to work with it for a while as its easy to shorten (and tough to lengthen [smiley=banana.gif]). THe ostrich is a little lumpier but will mellow. They can really make a good seat- this is my 4th and I am happy as $hit. [smiley=jalapeno.gif]

More pictures coming...If you want to get one let me know- I will be willing to make sure they match mine- I tihnk if we want a discount we will need 10 or more but lets see.

Big Al,

Glad you're happy with your new seat! That's what counts. Me, I like mine just the way it is.

Your a$$ must be special...mine isn't- 15000 miles/year are NOT possible on a MOCO seat IMNSHO. [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif]

I'm with you Al. My ass hurts every time I ride my CUSE. It's definitely the weak link in an otherwise exceptional motorcycle. Do you know who at Corbin I should call. The guy I've been talking to, Theron, doesn't know anything about this project.

I've had the same ass all my life! ;D Used to do 15k a year no problems... now it's less than 10k. Comfort is definitely a must ... maybe I'm just a hard ass??  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

The guy I worked with was Philip Ruiz- the showroom manager.  His email is showroom@mike-corbin.com and cell phone # is 831-902-5283.  My seat was done a week ago (last Tuesday) and George was the guy who made the seat. Mention the CVO web site and my name and he should remember.(Al Hamilton is my full name). If you get to Philip and he DOESN'T remember, PM me and I will call him.

Thanks Al. I'm trying to make this thing work. E-mailed your pictures to the Corbin guy I've been working with on the phone. Then I called him. He said he had to check before he could give me ordering details. When he called back, he said the only way they would make that seat was on a ride in basis only at their California store. Well, you can imagine what I said at that point. I told him there was no way I could ride 1500 miles to buy a seat. I asked him to go talk with Phillip. When he called me back after that conversation, they had decided they could make some more seats. $$$$$$ must have been floating in their heads but they want me to order through a local dealer. I immediately called Gail

Finally got a seat just like Al's ordered today from Corbin. Should be ready in about three weeks. If it looks as great as Al's, they should sell several hundred to our CVO group. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
