My amplifier quit after about 9K miles.  Took the factory a solid month to get another to the dealer.  Then about an hour to install.  Everyhting now working again.

Any time it takes a company months to get the replacement part to the dealer for a warranty repair, it's not because they forgot to send it.  It's because they've had a large number of failures and they are waiting on the latest batch of updated crap to be shipped from their Chinese supplier to replace the previous batch of crap.  In the meantime, they continue to install those parts on the bikes rolling off the assembly line.  Don't forget, they've already got your money so you are very low on the priority list.  At least an amp is a nonessential part; how would you feel if you had to wait weeks for a throttle body (throttle actuator failure) like some on this site have?

50 miles, the one they put in for me was from another CVO that hadn't been PDI'd yet, so it is the same problematic amp but has now seen 500 miles and is still working fine...

The right channel on my radio started going in and out around 1000 miles. I noticed that when I used the iPod it did it non-stop and when I would switch to FM Radio it was less frequent.

I have 3,000 on it now and it does it after heating up on both settings all the time. I will have to bring it in I guess, but now I have amunition from you guys to bring with me.

Thanks

My replacement amp just went out.  Original one lasted 4,000 miles.  Second one 3,000 miles.  Glad I can hum.

Mine went out about 2 months ago, around 1500 miles. Started by going in and out and playing out of some speakers and just kept getting worse. I was told it was the amp. Longhorn HD order me a new one. Waited a month to get it and when it was installed it sounded great till I left the dealership. Started doing the same thing just a few miles down the road. I took it back in and my friend in the service dept really started researching it. He found out that it could be the speakers or tweeters that is causing the problem. They just replaced the tweeters after testing and discovering them to be bad. I am picking it up this afternoon and they're telling me everything is fine now.
