Possible Future Convertible CVO

Do you think there will be a third year for the Convertible?

If so, what will they add or what would you like to see included

on the 2012. Personally I love my 2011.

I hope there will be a third year for the convertible!
But if there is I would like to see the 2012 feature more of the 2010 style rather than the 2011.

I was told that historically HD only produces the same model CVO for two consecutive years. When I purchased by 2010 CVO, I was told the 2012 would have different colors and could have newer features.  The salesperson was correct.

Not sure if I can truly take stock in this website or not.
http://www.cyrilhuzeblog.com/2011/06/19/harley-davidson-2012-models-new-tc-103-engine-on-some-models/  (double click on the blue word "HERE" to view the infomation submitted for government testing for 2012 model year).
It appears to give credence to the rumor of HD bringing back the convertible for a 3rd year.  Can only imagine what the updates could be.  I remember last year there was evidence in the 2011 parts catalog about the 2011 convertible but Harley didn't release the catalogs until the bikes were formally introduced as well.  This appears to be evidence that Harley can't keep under wraps.  Anybody think it's worth the written word??   Pork.

If a CVO is out of someones realm, a FatBoy with a 103" would be cool.  The 96" was a slow POS and the fly-by-wire sucks.  I'm happy my '10 ConV has a good old fashioned cable.

Nothing wrong with it
just me old and injuries in hand
I had to put a softer one in .020 thinner
Had to do some mods to my bigdog coyote
I had put an open belt drive  on it and baker put more clutches and steels in with a quick acting actuator
I had talked with Energy one and the tech had given me some ideas to help with my hand and still keep enough load on clutch pack
It worked great  still have it set up that way
So I wekened this by putting in thinner spring
Not great if your doing alot of burn outs but i dont do that any more
clutch holds fine

I agree - take the best of both bikes.  I have the 2010 and I prefer the handle bars and bags over the 2011 - but I would like cruise control on the next bike.  But alot of it is just personal taste.  The CVO's are all slick bikes.

Hi,

it will be a 3rd year of convertible. That was confirmed from my dealer. They have also colors but can not show now.........
Cool would be a version with 240" rear tire...... but we will see soon. I am happy with my 10 at least I can doe the TTS Tune and keep the bike slim without all the touring gadgets like engine-guard, Front lamb change to Fat Boy(I don t know why people are doing this), Wind deflectors and other stuff....

Had not heard of a front lamb change.  What is that?  Pork    Concening the engine guard, I consider that a safety item that can be useful even just around town.  In a low-speed turn that is unsuccessful, the engine guard keeps the bike from falling completely over and saves your handlebars, grips, and side of the bike from damage.  As well as possibly your legs in case of collision with another vehicle.  Would pay for itself the first time it happens.  Like a helmet, it may seem inconvenient, but while meditating over it from the comfort of a hospital bed post-accident, might just be worthwhile...............and have had one on every bike I have owned since 1973. (6 bikes)

I previously posted that I was told that HD manufactures CVOs only two years in a row.  Recently, I saw something which makes me believe there will either be a 3rd year for the CVO convertible OR there will be non-CVO Softails convertibles.  If I had to guess I would say the 3rd CVO Convertible will be in the 2012 fleet. I also believe all Softails will have cruise control. Cannot wait to see.

That would be nice to see a 2012 convertible
I would like to see a hard bag look like the guy did on this web sight to his 2010
Lets face it the street glide is their best seller
It would have todays hard bag look
For 30,000 it should have a better bag
Plus all parts come off quick
would be nice to see a lock for this
I do like the keyless start
Also they got to charge the ipod and modify that wind shield
just my 2 cents
The anti-lock brakes and cruise are great

Take a look at Harley's web site. They have the 2012 Softail convertables up now.
Like the Fairing mods and the GPS.

Hope they were smart enough to make the new piece on the fairing fit the 2010/2011. More money to spend, but may be well worth it. May look cool if it was painted to match!
