Hi Guys
I've had My 04 SE Deuce for 3 mths. I've put 800 miles on. we're about to relocate to Fla. so that will be another 850 miles after the auto train. how many miles are you guys putting on your rides. Coming up on 2k miles on my Road King. just curious.

Hey Des, I've got a little over 1500 miles thus far. I seem to be going at a "slightly" slower pace than the hard core folks on this site. I'm letting the bike riding naturally integrate into my regularly quite hectic family/ professional life. I'm quite content though--much to learn about riding as well as skill development and my wife is realizing that it is not like she thought it was gonna be--always gone riding. At my current pace I'll get to 10K in about 5 years!!!???

Mileage...well, 3500 on my 03 CVO Deuce, 12500 on my 03 Ultra, 800 on my 04 VRod, and 5000 on my 02 Sporty. Am I hardcore?

Oh yea, the VRod is my wife's, but I have put most of the miles on it so far. If she caught me saying it was mine, I'd be in big trouble! It's hers!

I had 2500 at the end of last season and am at 4000 right now...I plan on about 5000 per year on the SEEG...2500 right now.

I got my '04 in late July as a birthday present from my wife. It had 1900 miles on it. I just took it in for a 10,000 mile checkup with just under 12,000 miles on it - averaging about 2,500 miles a month mostly riding around middle Tennessee - which has to be God's gift to bikers. We rode from Nashville to Natchez, Mississippi for Thanksgiving - about 1,100 miles round trip. Love that new Mustang seat! My wife has put 1,500 miles on her new CVO Fatboy in about 2 weeks, including the trip to Natchez. She loves it. We ride year 'round here. Heated grips and electric gloves help when it gets down to the 40's.

My wife's put 9300 miles on her '03 SED and my '03 SERK has 9800 miles. We got them within one month of each other in Sept/Oct 2002. Unfortunately, they're both in winter storage for the next 4 or so months, but are safe and warm at the dealership who's performing their 10K mile service.....Come on Spring!!! im waiting for a new flhtcse and am still riding the deuce. its not a cvo but a 02. got it in feb of 02 and im almost at 30000 miles.. its a great bike and i plan on keeping it. a bagger and a deuce should make just about and rider happy

My Wife has 54,000 miles on her yellow 04 Deuce. She bought it new Oct. 04 and has won mileage contests in 06 and 07. Rode from Mich. to Cal in 08.

Just under 10K now. It had 5K on it when I bought it 2 years ago. Weather has been particularly bad this year so far

but hope to get her back out soon. Fired her up in the garage yesterday just for some inspirational auditory input. Gotta love the sound of those V&H Bigshot staggareds

I'm still using the stock FXSTDSE seat, which I find quite acceptable. I know that when I had a stock sportster I could only ride 1 hour. After I got a Mustang seat on it I could ride 10 hours, no problem. Took the sporty around the country in 2006. When I got back I found the Deuce. Love to ride. Cheers, -ted

Ted,

I'm not sure if you've done this already, but I installed heel rests and they help alot! If you haven't done this, might be worth considering? Gives you some added movement range.

I have put a little over 1,600 miles on mine since I bought it 07/26/2008. Ride it every "nice" day back and forth to work. Man it makes my day better.

I just safely completed a seven week, 12,000 mile solo ride from/to Wash DC, including Yellowstone, Banff, Alaska, SoCal, Utah and much in-between. So now the odo is at 36K. Love this bike more every day-rides great, looks even better. I always remind folks that:

I don't have any idea how long I'll live, but I KNOW I'll be dead a long, long time.

My Wife purchased hers new in 03 and has put 32.500 miles on it she said when she bought it if she was going to give that much for a bike she was going to ride it and not just look at it !

i just bought my 04 se duece 2 month ago. it had 1404 miles on it when i picked it up. i think i just hit 3100 on it. so ive put alittle over 1700 miles on it in the first 2 months ive had it.

Seduced069: I hear you!! I can't wait for some day trips with mine! It seems to be a little bit higher strung than any of my prior scooters, I can lug my Evo along in any gear at nearly any speed and it does fine, try and do that with my 03 SED and it has a fit!! Jerky like krazee too, and twist it up to full wick and it sounds and struggles until it gets 2500 or more RPM before it starts to even pull, 1200 RPM on my 98 FatBoy pulls stronger until the 95" twin cam gets above the 2500 or so mark and then it gets alot stronger as they wind out. When I need to get some where fast, I take the SED, it eats up miles fast, and has a higher octane experience.
I still want more power from it though, I am not sure where to start, I think I need to find a good mechanic/shop with dyno and see what a good tune will do first.
How does this compare to your SED, it it a little higher strung than other bikes off the showroom floor?? I just found a front fender for our bikes on eBay, perfect condition, gold foil and all! I was told that if we had to buy a new one the price is nealy $600, I paid $60 shipped! Just arrived yesterday!!

I found it last November in some wealthy guy's garage along with a few collector cars. He purchased it new for $30,000.00
and put a total of 300 miles on it since.
I got it for $12,700, trailered it home, got all the fluids changed, put on some Big Radius pipes, State inspection, Cut off the cheesy plastic license plate holder and replaced it with a chrome side mount, and now I'm ready to start piling on the miles.
Put about 300 on it so far and I have loved each and every one.
Everyone who sees the bike makes a comment on it.

As of now I have just over 30K but then again it’s currently “under the knife” and will soon reemerge as a 117” Deuce

….. so the first 30K will just be a thought of as a lengthy, easy “test drive”

UPDATE: JUNE 07 2012 just rolled 36000 miles this morning on my way to work. That is more miles than most people put on their car in that amount of time.
