I'm holding out for a 2012 CVO.  I really like the 2009 CVO Road Glide. I Think the water cooling is just  :help:a rumor. Anyone that hears anything about the 2012 CVO please post. I have a pile of cash I can't wait to spend.

It will be lighter. Because it will not have a radio or speakers. At least for the first 6 months after the first release in Aug. Unless they saved some just for the CVO's.

I got a survey from HD asking if I would buy a bike without a radio and if they gave me a $750 coupon for a radio install at a later date would I still purchase a new scoot....

If they are short on radios how are they going to get the stealth radiators from Denso out of Japan????

As far as the sore ass I use an Air Hawk for longer rides.

Fullsac is hard to beat, particularly if you like the look of the stock cans, which I do.  Looks stock, sounds and performs better, especially if you get the X pipe header to go with the cores, and TTS to reflash the ECM.  It's a good, easy route to go, IMO.  I put it on my bike with the 2" cores, and I'm very happy with the results thus far.  It's an excellent product, with no fitment problems, and excellent build quality.  Uses the stock heat shields.  It'll also get rid of the Cat in the stock header, which is a source of a great deal of heat.

Seats?  If your a$$ is hurting after just 75 miles, I'd look at a more permanent solution to the problem...as in a different seat.  So far, I'm happy with the seat on my 2011 SERGU, but it's got a different seat than the SESG.  If I were buying a seat today, I'd get a Corbin through hd-dude (Jim) here on the site...his shop's name is Metal Dragon.  He can make sure you get a good fit from Corbin, and he is a member here, plus his customer service is second to none.  He can also fix you up on the Fullsac system, with a discount.  But, not everyone likes a Corbin...they are firm, but once broken in, 500 mile days were no issue for me on my '06 SEUC.  I also had one on my '05 Ducati MTS, which had a 1x12 board for a stock seat that would kill you after 30 miles.  A lot of people like Mustang, C&C...the list can go on for quite a while.  I've heard a lot of folks say they like the Airhawk mentioned above, but it sits on top of the seat, so if you have a short inseam it's going to make that worse, plus it doesn't look the best in the world...it's a function over form item.

Fullsac is great.

Three baffles for varying loudness.

Mastertune or the new PowerVision.  Both are great.

Ceramic X-pipe for the 110.

Yeah baby.

Put the FulSac on my 2011 SERGU except didn't pay for the tuner. My bike runs just fine and saved about & 475. I was told that the computer has enough memory and bike is running good.

It's not about whether the "computer" (ECM) has "memory" (it doesn't in the traditional computer lingo way), but whether the standard, stock MAP can adapt to changes to the intake/exhaust flow via the input from the narrow band O2 sensors in the header pipes.  What you have stock in the ECM is a MAP that is already on the ragged edge of being too lean (read: extremely hot running engine).  Even if the ECM can adapt to some changes, it still makes the air/fuel ratio very, very lean because it's always going to try and get the A/F to the stock configuration.

If you only change the baffles in the stock mufflers, and do nothing to the head pipe, it can probably cope with the change.  But, IMO, if you change the header to another type/brand, OR you remove the Cat in the stock header and then put it back on, the bike needs more fuel, and the only way to do that is to change the MAP in the ECM, or fool it into thinking it's running too lean, so it adds more fuel.

Found this.
Harley Davidson notoriously nostalgic has 108 years of practice of producing air-cooled engine and has decided to launch 2012 models with water-cooled engines. Thanks to certification documents leaked by California Air Resources Board and EPA, all 2012 models of Harley Davidson will be equipped with radiator. One of the representatives of the company suggested that these water cooled engines will generate 35 percent more horsepower and will run considerably cooler as compared to previous models launched by Harley Davidson. The side mounted radiators manufactured by Denso in Japan are built for Harley Davidson application.

Harley Davidson is an American motorcycle manufacturing company which was found in the first decade of 20th century in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is one of the major motorcycle manufacturers in the market that survived the Great Depression period. The motorcycles manufactured and launched by the company come with unique exhaust note and design. The company was found by Davidson brothers such as Arthur, William and Walter along with William S. Harley developed and designed engines and motorcycles in their family shed. The principal subsidiaries of the company are Holiday Rambler Corporation; Utilmaster Corporation; Creative Dimensions; B&B Molders and Nappanee Wood Prod

Will there be a 2012 CVO Road King.??

Maybe for 2012 there will be no FLHXSE3 but again a CVO Dyna?

What about a CVO-VROD in a Dresser outfit and a bigger engine to suit a heavier Touring bike.

The lineup for 2012 is maybe a CVO Dyna,  a CVO Road King,  a CVO Softtail and a FLHTCUSE7 ??

What do you think are possible new features on the Touring bikes??

I'm thinking they might do the second year on the SERGU, it's been selling pretty well; definitely another SEUC (that's their cash cow); probably another SESG (selling extremely well, at or above SEUC rate); and a soft tail of some sort. JMO...

Agree with you, Charlie...another year on the SERGU, and there's no way that they are going to stop the SEUC.

I don't think it would be a CVO first go around, but at some point in time they really need to produce a factory bagger, or a "Sport Tourer" using the Revolution engine as a base, bumped up some in CC's, larger frame, etc.  It would be good competition for the Beemers, Yamahas, Hondas, and Kawasakis.  It may not sell to the die hard HD crowd, but it might get the attention of the 30-40 year olds who are tired of the crotch rockets and looking for something more comfortable for distance riding.

I agree with you Terry...I think a factory "BaggerRod" will show up some day soon.  I remember talking to my dealer a couple of years ago and he had stated that he'd heard that the MoCo was tinkering with an 1800CC water-cooled revolution engine in an FLH-type frame.  I think it's inevitable...

It can only change "if" they change the crank!

Need to look at the date of the article.

this is becoming a yearly event... when the moco finally does go to the water no one will believe it!

2012 HD CVO Predictions:
- powerplants will be basically same as 2011
- no new bagger models will be offered
- will be more of the same excpet for some new colors and paint schemes

power plants will not change until 2014.  You heard it here first.

What happens in 2014, they outsource the entire thing to China?  Or maybe Rotax?

Nope, didn't mean it to be negative with regard to Rotax.  They make much better stuff than Harley has ever dreamt of making.  Odds are it would be too expensive for the cheap bastards in Milwaukee however, so I'm betting on the all Chinese version.

Any day now. Manufacturers are required to post a 30 Day public notice with EPA and CARB regarding emission specifications for each model sold for street use. But there are loopholes and special circumstances where manufacturers don't have to do the public notice but these pertain to test and  R&D bikes and models not meeting a specific number manufactored within the year sold. California is a bit tougher and don't alow loopholes so you won't see any R&D vehicles roaming the streets in this crazy State.....

I heard today the dealers should have there 2012 in July,

So I'm thinking what ever the dealers have for the 2011Cvo's should be the last of them
the numbers of 2011 could be low :)

Dear Dealer:

As communicated at the May Town Hall Meetings, deliveries of 2012 Model Year motorcycles for select families will begin in mid to late June. This early delivery of select 2012 families is to support retail performance through the summer and improve overall inventory levels. Please modify your dealership’s sales plans to accommodate the delivery timing of the 2012 models and to manage the sell-down of 2011 models.

Below is a schedule and delivery timing for all 2012MY vehicle families.

Family/Model

Deliveries Begin
Factory Custom XL1200CP Week of June 20 th
Touring June 30 th
Trike June 30 th
Sportster June 30 th
Softail July 20 th
Dyna July 20 th
VRSC July 20 th
Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) July 20 th

Factory Custom XL1200CP :
2012MY Factory Custom XL1200CP vehicles will begin shipping the week of June 20 th and will continue to ship as orders are received and produced.

Touring, Trike, and Sportster Families :
Your dealership can expect an initial delivery of 2012MY product for the Touring family between Thursday June 30 th and Friday July 8 th. Deliveries of Trikes and Sportsters will also start June 30 th. Orders with planned ship dates after June 30 th will follow the planned ship dates in the Vehicle Order Management (VOM) application. Orders with planned ship dates up to and including June 23 rd should be included in your dealership’s first initial delivery of 2012MY product.

Dealer Action Required:

* Please check the Vehicle Order Listing in VOM to view planned ship dates for these specific families.

Dealer Action Required:

* Please review this delivery schedule with your motorcycle receiving and set up personnel to be prepared for the arrival of these units at your dealership.
* If you will be unable to accept deliveries due to Summer Dealer Meeting attendance, you must update your hours in GDIS. This should be done at least 2 weeks prior to the effective dates to allow adequate time for transportation to get the information to their drivers. Please also contact your Vehicle DSC to notify transportation.

Confidential Vehicle Pricing :
2012 Model Year confidential dealer net pricing and suggested retail pricing for the families being delivered early will be available on h-dnet.com (Departments/Vehicle Sales/Sales Materials/Confidential Vehicle Pricing) on June 10 th for the XL1200CP and on June 30 th for the Touring, Trike, and Sportster families. Please contact your Dealer Principal or General Manager if you require pricing information.

Sincerely,

I agree with you Terry...I think a factory "BaggerRod" will show up some day soon.  I remember talking to my dealer a couple of years ago and he had stated that he'd heard that the MoCo was tinkering with an 1800CC water-cooled revolution engine in an FLH-type frame.  I think it's inevitable...

I received the same survey, it appears that because of the disaster in Japan that Radios might not be available when 2012 production begins, you would receive your bike minus the radio which would be installed when they are in supply.

They should all come that way anyway so you could concentrate on the mechanical noises during the initial break-end period.  Then install the sounds later to try and drown out what you don't want to hear.  :o har.  spyder

Any one know the exact dates and location of the dealer meeting??

It will be in Anahiem Cali this year, week of July 18............. Usually the bikes have been shipped just prior to the show, so they come off the delivery trucks few days after the show... No doubt, the 2012 colors and models are being built as we speak.  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:  and yes, my hotel reservations have been made already...hehe  :pepper: :pineapple: :carrot: :jalapeno:

Yes... The MoCo in the past has not released (shipped) CVO's until after the official release at the dealers meeting (which is in July).

He claims this is the first time this has ever happened. I will call my dealer friend in Wisconsin and see what he has to say.

The MOCO didn't release the 2011 CVO  models until Sturgis. Are they releasing them early this year?

Sorry but this is wrong. My dealer;

Received their first 2011 FLTRUSE on Tuesday July 27, 2010
Had it uncrated on Wednesday July 27, 2010
On the showroom floor on Thursday July 28, 2010 when I looked at it and bought it.
I took delivery on Saturday July 31, 2010

Sturgis was in August 2010

The dealers start receiving the CVOs the week of their dealer convention as stated elsewhere in this discussion.

July 27 2010 must have been a long day.  Lasted a Tuesday and a Wed.  Then they made up for it by going from the 28 to 31st from Thurs to Sat. :cucumber:

This early delivery of select 2012 families is to support retail performance through the summer and improve overall inventory levels. Please modify your dealership’s sales plans to accommodate the delivery timing of the 2012 models and to manage the sell-down of 2011 models.
