« on: May 08, 2011, 08:27:13 PM »

Just turned 150 miles wont idle after warm up.Need to keep slight throttle to keep it running. Is there anything I could check or should I just take it back.First bike ,I treated myself for a early 50 B day present.Maybe I should of quit while I was ahead !Nick

At 150 miles the only thing I would be checking is the service department hours!!!! Could be an intake leak, throttle body issue....etc.....I'd be bringing it back.....

Yeah, just wondered if it was something common that maybe a tap of a hammer somewhere could fix it !Nick

Not common on the board....maybe jsut check for any loose or disconnected hoses behind the throttle body.

Idle is controlled by a separate electically operated valve (IAC, Idle Air Control) that's mounted to the exterior of the throttle body.  A poor electrical connection could easily cause what you described.

BigNick,

keep up posted on this.  grc is on the money.  I had the IAC motor go bad on a car once and it behaved the exact same way.

Lot money invested in that bike not to have it checked out - especially so you don't have to rely on a hammer  :)
