Loose connectiod after 10k service
« on: May 17, 2011, 08:57:23 PM »

Hey ya'll.  Just got the bike back from the 10k service and on the way home tonight I noticed this connectiod hanging from the left (As I sit on the bike) side under the fairing.  Anyone know what it is supposed to connect, and where?  I cannot see anything that looks like it needs plugging....

Bingo. The male side of that connection should be located somewhere around the frame neck.

However, that same connector type is also used for the mysterious "rear speaker" connection (not used, with dust cap) inside the fairing.

X2,  there is one on each side between the inner and outer fairings at the lower section.

Odd ... my additional connectors are landed in close proximity to the main fairing speaker connectors. Both have weather caps installed. No way my additional connectors would reach the point shown in the pic. Build on my bike is Dec/Jan time frame.

Thanks for all the replies.  As it turns out it was the lower speaker connection.  Is this something that comes loose regularly?  Seemed like a pretty tight squeeze was needed to get it back together.

Just make sure the retention tab is fully clicked into place - should be fine.

Thanks again, it is fully engaged.  If it happens again I will slap a zip tie on it so it will be easily removed should I need to it be.
