Headlight buzzing
« on: May 11, 2011, 03:42:43 PM »

I have a 2009 CVO Springer.  At about 3500 RPM the headlight goes into a harmonic buzz that is very annoying.  The dealer says nothing can be done.  Anyone had this problem?  How did you fix it?

Thanks/Scott

Try to tighten the trim ring  or a small dab of silicone on the under side of the trim ring I had the same problem on my 07 springer

That sucs, 'cause it will eventually crack & fail if it's like all other harmonic buzzing pieces that I"ve ever had on a harley.  Like the ole Rock & Roll ballard says: It's just a matter of time.  har. spyder

I used the insulation they use around windows it has foam on one side and the glue strip on the other put it between the ring and the housing.

If you do that way, make sure to use the 'closed-cell' kind that won't absorb & retain moisture. Or else you'll have other problems.  spyder
