Suspension for CD changer
« on: May 14, 2006, 10:34:06 PM »

I took the wife's CD changer apart (out of her SERG) this evening.  It's got 4 vibration dampners that are a flexible "pod" filled with a thick dampning fluid type stuff.  It's only got 2 true springs, one on each side.  Three of the 4 pods were split open and one of the springs was broken.  Has anybody found a source for these pods??  The spring I think I can find locally.  I'll bet every CD changer out there designed for vehicle use has these pods.  Any ideas??

Just an update, I've figured out the changer is probably a JVC model CH-X**** series.  They all appear to be similar, except for cosmetics.  If anybody has a good JVC source, let me know.

I'd like to get just parts, but that may be tougher than it's worth.  The used unit route may be the easiest way to go, but having new vibration dampeners would be better.  They are definitely a life span limited product.
