« on: March 28, 2012, 06:05:39 PM »

What are our options for exhaust for our fxr's new now?  I've been looking around..not much choice..thunderheader or vance and hines short shots are all that seem to be out there. Any recommendations? Dave

You can do a supertrapp supermeg (dyna and softail) and make a mounting bracket from the rear foot peg.

RB Racing makes the LSR  pipe as well.

The SuperTrapp Super Meg 2-1 for a softail or Dyna will actually work and comes wirh heat shields, the bracket that fits to rhe megaphone needs to be actually made,

I have made the bracket tbat will work.

Tim

Paughco still makes multiple styles of exhaust.  I just bought a set of the staggered with tapered mufflers.  Works with all the stock hardware.  They sound a tad bit quieter than the Python 3 s I had before.  I bought them direct.  Easy to deal with.  I bought the heat shields as well.  The only regrets is that the front heat shield only covers the vertical portion,  The horizontal portion of the front head pipe is uncovered including the clamp that attaches below the timing cover.
