gps molasses
« on: June 27, 2011, 08:15:18 PM »

just wondering if my gps is slow or that is the nature of it. the gps is the stock model on the 2011.5. just seems like you push the letters- numbers and nothing happens so you do it again and again then finally it seems to respond. anyone else have the same problem or is the nature of this model. ???

I don't have it in front of me. I recall that if you tap lower right to the side
of menu a new page opens and gives more info. Direction
Elevation and I think distance and time to destination.

Sounds to me like a bad touch screen. My 665 was like that till I had it replaced under warranty. You can also try the screen calibration under system settings

Go to the garmin website this info should be in the booklet that your gps came in.  I believe it is my.garmin.com.  If you have any problems call them on the phone number listed in the book.  Youll need your usb cable and your gps it simple plug and install.  Oh yea you will have to register your product and you get a free download of nuvi maps or something like that.  Hope this helps you chipsta.

Is this when you first power up the unit? If you are using the unit as a MP3 play and have allot of songs loaded they will cause the unit to slow on power up until music is sorted.
