What kind of exhaust
« on: July 02, 2011, 09:12:04 PM »

It's a given - I know I need to change the exhaust on my 2010 CVO Convertible, but I'm trying to find pics of folks that have changed from the stock to either short shots staggered or big shots.  I finding alot of the big radius 2 into 2.......I had these on my dyna and just loved them.  Not sure if I want them on the CVO......thoughts or pics - send them my way.

Tks

Here's a link to a recent post.  These are V&H Big Shots Long.  I am very happy with my choice although i know a lot of guys prefer the two in one set up.

I'm close to replacing my exhaust with Rinehart Cross-Back Chrome.
I'm only waiting for the TTS MasterTune availability for my bike.  I've been told to expect completion within the coming weeks.  Then Dynotune and off I goooooooo.

Anyone else have any experience or comments on the sound or performance?

I've just had the Stage1 with the V&H Pro Pipe. The performance, the sound and the looks are absolutely amazing.

I'm running the pipes without the quiet baffle and I'm told by others including non Harley riders, that the sound is acceptable and good. It's basically a deep throaty rumble. I did try the quiet baffle but the sound was not great and probably not much quieter than the pipe without the baffle. I was also very impressed with the performance increase. I was sceptical at first about possible performance increase with the Stage 1 but there is a noticeable difference.

The only negative and it's just a minor one, is that the on stereo is now only good up to about 50mph. I might look at options to boost the audio performance as I like riding with the music blaring out.

Chuckshoffner, Is that a Corbin seat that you have? If so how do you find it compared to the stock and also what's the back rest that you're using?

Its a Corbin and twice as comfortable as stock. It does take a few miles to break in a Corbin. They break in to the individual.

Twice as comfortable would make it quite impressive, since these stock ones aren't really bad.
Might have to do consider yet another upgrade.

i didn't think the stock seat was very comfortable. One difference with all after market seats is the use of real leather instead of pleather. The feel of the leather with the addition of the internal higher grade foams really make a difference especially on long rides.

Thanks for the additional information.  I guess I didn't look hard enough, figured the CBO was Leather, not 'pleather'.  It does look "pretty', however ... hehe
Is your Corbin a custom fit seat or anything?  Or is it stock with the backrest.
If you have the part numbers handy, I'll probably get the same setup as you have.
I had a Corbin on my old Sportster, it was comfortable, as you said!

From the above photos I've seen the taller windshield on several bikes. What kind is the windshield?

Has anyone used the Vance and Hines Long Shot HS exhausts? If so, do you have a photo?

V&H - I know there was a picture already but just wanted to add mine too!   :) Very loud pipes. These pipes were great for a bar hopper but not good if you plan to ride any distance.

I am partial to the V&H Big Radius. I think it opens up the good looking rear wheel nicely which allows greater access when washing, drying and polishing said good looking rear wheel. Also the sound is great. I do have the Big Radius on my 2012 convertible.

Another vote for the Crossbacks. I think they were made for the CVO Convertible.
