Asking for prayers for my wife, family and myself, have cancer pretty bad, Liver, lungs and nodes, brain scan to follow, been ill for over a year now, but didnt get that bad till the tumors spread and are of good size, selling the bike, as I need the $$ and cant really ride more than a couple miles and thats only on a good day when I dont eat pain pills to get by. Was fun riding with some of you over the years. Lookin for a miracle at this point, Doc says its really bad. have a lot of people praying for us, a few more couldnt hurt right?

Please know that you have an extended family here that will lift you lift in prayer. In addition there are miracles that occur each and every day in our lives including health care. As someone who's profession is in this arena I can state that I have experienced this first hand. With that stated there was no other explanation than GOD's hand.

Really sorry to hear this Mike.

A little walk back down memorey lane (I looked for the ride report but can't find it) the Napa Valley/Quincy ride. I think that was the first time I'd rode with you and your wife.....the waterfalls along the feather river.....the hotel in Quincy......the ride down Hwy. 49 the following day.

I'm praying for you and your family Mike. Good luck in selling your bike....sorry to hear that you're not able to ride any more.

Thanks Everyone, The prayers are helping somehow I'm sure and I'm having a few good days mixed in with the bad ones now, my odds arent looking so good, been given a 15% chance to make it a year, and that might go down after the pet scan and mri to see if its spread eleswhere, but on the upside, I have been given 15% !!, Im goin to fight this, looking at other alternatives right now, some of my friends have put together a fund raiser to help my family with all of this, I'm not asking for any $$ from any of you, just support, and if any of the cali people that I know, or dont know would like to attend the benefit, Fred, Gina, JC, Jim, Jonga,Duke, Isellbulls, Susy, Andy, Ernie, Joe etc. I will give you a ticket to come see me and Laurie if you like. I have the official results of the bioptcy yesterday, its not liver or lung or nodes cancer even though it has spread to these areas, its Metastatic Melanoma stage 4. Theres some newly approved FDA drugs for melanoma that are promising though still in the clinical testing stage, so I'm going to be a government guinea pig, the treatments cost $30,000 each chemo session, so I am not a cheap date after all. V.A. will cover most of the costs I hope?, Still waiting the officail word from Uncle Obama on where the hell that moneys going to come from?, hopefully out of his personal frickin pension plan? or maybe ground Air Force 1 for week or so? . Have a brain scan today or tommorow to see if radiation is needed or not too. Keep your fingers crossed for me on this one. I want to thank everyone for the prayers and support and kind posts. I'll try and keep you updated best I can and hopefuly with better news than I'm gettin now.

Well, Im just on a roll, MRI shows I have it in my brain too, so i cant do the clinical testing now, standard chemo and radiation only, and doc says 4 to 12 months to live depending on if I choose the treatment or not. Goin to look into other options now. Thanks again for the prayers.

first 5 days of chemo over, although sick for 8 from it, they say its to improve quality of life at this point, I dont see where throwing up relentlessly for 7-8 days improves anything, but now get a break till the end of the month from that. Started radiation yesterday on my brain, so I hope i dont forget my password to get back on here :-) Thanks for all the prayers, if they can shrink the tumors on my brain, they said they will try and get me back on the list for the new melanoma super drug program down the road. Puttin up a fight, but I see why some just give up, this is hard to say the least. I see little kids and babies at Stanford with cancer, breaks my heart, and wonder how hard it must be for them to do MRI's and the radiation etc. when they have to lock them so they dont move at all. I'm a lucky parent to not to have had to experience any of that,.....counting my blessings here.

Mike...I assume you live in CA? Have you considered getting a script for medical pot? It's legal there, and it really, really helps with the nausea, appetite, and some of the pain. None of my business, but just throwing it out there as a viable solution for some of the side effects. I have personally witnessed it helping. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you and your family all the best. Keep your strength up as best you can.
