Have you put the heat demons on your bike? I was wondering if they would work on mine.

I do like the addition to the fairing and the GPS location.

Gonna have to add 'locks' of some type to that windscreen since it now holds the GPS.  Too tempting to a thief. Wonder if the GPS is quickly detachable?   spyder

If you check the Harley site there are some shots without the GPS, so I'm guessing in unsnaps quickly, so you can secure it.

And if the saddlebag lock, that would be the thing to do on a routine basis.  spyder

I have the Blue 2011 and my only complaint has been the lack of usefullness of the windshield in blocking wind.
If anyone has further information about upgrading the current 2011 fairing windshield to the 2012, whether parts can be substituted or a total replacement is necessary, that would be great.
I might have to wait until my dealer gets one on the showroom floor to get all the answers, but hopefully my desires can be accomodated, both in value and color, provided the new model does indeed block wind more significantly as they state.

I agree I would change my fairing to the 2012 with the sat nav. The higher shield and side extentions have to improve the ride. I ask my dealer to get the part numbers and order when available.

good job of photoshop, Fadboy!  Threw me for a minute.  but noticed also the relocation of the turn signals on the Front.  this may lend itself to an easy fix for adding a light bar with a couple extra Aux. lights?  I will see for myself in 2 weeks when I go to Sturgis.  Could be time for a reinvestment.   Pork.    For only $100 more, the value may be there.  Of course, you can't just trade yours plus $100........everybody knows that.  But we're getting really close to having a great bike here.........

Does anyone know if the bracket that fits into the centre of the screen for the sat-nav can be purchased and fitted to the 2011 screen?

my guess is that the bracket can be purchased however there are 3 holes to drill in the shield if you want to mount it that way.  If not, could use double stick 3-M adhesive.  I'm not sure of the MOCO will allow us owners of '10 and '11 models to purchase all the individual parts to build our own windshields but I may be mistaken.  It does seem peculiar that they would build the '12s identical in every aspect except the very problem we have all been after them to resolve if they weren't going to allow us to purchase the remedy ourselves.  We'll see.  Hoping someone can purchase a '12 parts manual and post the picture of all the parts and all the part numbers for this new windshield.  I am still not sure if I would go with a gps but may.  Pork.

Hi, I dont mind drilling the three holes but my dealer says you have to give your VIN number when ordering any standard replacement parts and if it didnt belong on that bike then you cant have it.
Its to stop people making their bikes into later models when they are not.
I fancied that brown seat as well!

Hi Fadboy,

Ring around some other dealers, most don't have a problem with restricted part numbers.

Cheers,

Kev
