Installed mid frame air deflectors with a bonus.

Added these and relocated the connection for my intercom. I was a multi purpose decision.  It helps with the heat, hides the wires and makes for a cleaner install of the intercom connection.

Fireguy, nice job and thanks for the pictures.

DOC.COFFIN's SESG2 has this mod and posted pics in this thread:

http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=62448.0

After seeing DOC.COFFIN's thread, I relocated the rider headset connector on my '04 which uses different mid-frame deflectors than the '09 and newer models and posted a picture in DC's thread.

As for the heat question, the harness is necessarily close to the rear header, but with 4.5K miles or so since the relocation, there is no evidence of heat damage to the connector harness conduit which is routed as far as possible from the header and secured with zip ties to prevent it from getting any closer to the header.  Just completed a roundtrip from Atlanta to Virginia Beach (580 miles one way) in 90*+ temps w/o any issues with the connector harness.

The relocation of the connector to the mid frame air deflector is probably of limited utility to Ultra owners, and of more interest to those who have added CB or intercom and chose to retain the OEM console on their bikes and don't want to mount the rider headset connector on the gas tank as called for with the Boom Audio Music and Intercom kits (HD p/n's 77107-09 and 77108-09A).
