Funny looking trans oil...
« on: August 14, 2011, 08:04:07 PM »

I'll admit I have never even checked a HD transmission oil level before since I have only had two big twins and the first one I only had for 3 months. My current '06 CVO I purchased used three months ago from a dealer. I rode the bike several miles to warm it up to temp. Let it sit a few minutes when I got back, then checked the transmission oil level with the bike level, straight up. The oil on the dipstick seemed to be "bubbly" looking. Its the only way I can describe it. Didn't look like the oil level on the engine dipstick as it didn't have bubbles. Is this normal? I have not read any threads describing this.

It would be normal in not warmed up properly.
My bike does the same an no issues.
