what throttle body?
« on: September 10, 2011, 09:05:17 PM »

Hey Gang,
wondering if anybody knows what's on a 2001 screamin eagle roadglide for a throttle body 38mm or 43mm? I see someone has a m & m 43mm with high flow injectors for sale, he also says that the injectors are set closer to the intake, unlike the standard setup where the injectors are set to far back. Maybe my scooter may have this set up anyways? any thoughts would be appreciated, bye for now, Go Hard

Stock TB is 38mm.  All the Marelli bikes got a 38mm throttle body stock.  There was a "Screamin' Eagle" over the counter upgrade option.  Long since obsolete.

There are aftermarket options also.  Often very pricey.  If all your after is a little bigger intake the resizing job offered by BC Gerolamy should be at least a consideration.  It's certainly the most cost effective option.  They'll rework your stock 38mm TB up to 42mm for $325.

ive seen the older s.e. tb 's on ebay pretty cheap  they are 43 mm, i had one on my 2000 ultra, worked pretty decent with a pc111 and a dyno tune, wasnt much choice back then,  the stock one can be ported and flowed,  to 43 easily  with a slightly bigger injector and a pc iiir with a tune

We bore the early 2 pc Delphi's. The throttle plate (we manufacture) goes from 1.630", to 1.840".
Manifold is blended, and other mods are performed as well.
Dyno proven power, throughout the rpm band. :)

This is something you offer to retrofit the dual plenum Marelli bikes he was asking about?  If so what else is required to complete the retrofit?

No retro fit on that, but HPI has a single throat conversion set-up. :)

If your build is mild 95" find a 43 SE unit, it will be worth the trouble and money assuming today they should not be more than a few hundred dollars, the MM is considered a dinosaur today but actually works pretty well on the smaller motors.

There are tuners out there that can really get that Marelli systems running very good.
They were not destined for larger engines, however, but mild 95"s, or 103"s seem to be fine.
