Question about rider floorboards
« on: September 24, 2011, 09:21:47 AM »

I've seen a product somewhere, but don't remember where, or what it is called.

My issue: left rider floorboard, no problem due to rear shift peg.  Right side rider floorboard, sometimes my boot heel slides back far enough to get against the exhaust heat shield.  I've already cleaned off a black spot.

I think I remember seeing a product that attaches to the floorboard that is like a small curb or bumper, for lack of better words to describe it.  Something to keep my heel off of the exhaust shield.  I've looked thru HD website, and also on Kuryakyn, and haven't found anything.

Has anyone seen what I'm describing?

Thanks in advance!

wideglidejoe, I have seen them advertised in the back of various cycle magazines. One thing I would like to mention is that if your pants are a little long or baggy or you wear chaps there is a good chance they will get caught up on the heel guards when you get off your bike. I don't have a rear shift lever on either of my bikes for that exact reason. CAHDBIKER

cahdbiker,

thanks for the info.  After looking at most of the heel guards, I've about decided to either live with it and pay more attention, or possibly use one of the spacer kits that moves the footboards out about an inch.

I don't have this issue on my WideGlide with forward controls!
