We were riding in the low 60s today and only a few miles.  But when I pushed the vent lever back to the second position, it was cold on my forehead and even thow we'd only rode about ten miles or so to Terrie's mother's, when we got off the freeway I told Terrie "man, I think I got brain freeze"......my forehead was really cold.  And even though I look over the 8" windscreen, I never actually intentionally raised up any higher than my normal riding position.

Next weekend we're going to be putting in about 800 miles......it'll be a good test and we'll be down in the desert where it's supposed to be up in the 80s so we'll see how well it vents in those kind of temps.

That sounds significantly different than the old N-102.  I'd notice rain drops with the vent open.  But never really obviously felt the air flow.  It was there.  But barely.

Looking forward to having vents that work. On my current helmet, when I open the top vent there is so much noise that I end up closing it.

the chin bar vent does nothing.

Those of you that have the helmet with the communication system.  Can you take photos of the setup... how close is the mike to your mouth??  A friend brought over an aftermarket unit and I just don't see having too much space between the front of the helmet and my mouth...  :nixweiss:

That was the same with the older Nolan's however, plenty of room in the new Nolan N-104.  I intentionally shoved my jaw as far forward as I could and I don't touch.   I've noticed that I don't have to move the microphone before removing my helmet. :2vrolijk_21:

Thank you.  So the mic has to be very small then...

What size helmet are you using?

And btw, the ventilation on this helmet is amazing!!  :2vrolijk_21:  Also, more stable at speeds... where I had some buffeting with the Shoei, there is none with the Nolan.

Fitment?  It is different from the Shoei.  Not sure if it is because is new, but the Nolan wraps around my head much closer/tighter than the Shoei.  And yes, I did try the XL and that was too big... so L it was...

What size helmet are you using?

Yes, it's small.....about the size of a dime or smaller.

I wear XL.....my wife wears an XS.

We're leaving in a few hours on our trip.  If I remember, I'll try to get some close ups of the N-Com system and microphone, etc. in position.  It'll have to be my ugly mug though......you know how women get when a camera gets too close. :huepfenlol2:

This one shows the size of the microphone itself, in relation to the rest of the helmet.

In this photo you can see that there is plenty of room for the microphone and plenty of room for your chin.  The microphone does not need to be moved from this position to open or close the chin bar or to take the helmet off.....at least not for my fat head wearing an XL.

By the way, two days ago I wore this helmet in 18F degree weather on Lake Tahoe.  Today I wore this helmet in 90F degree temps here in Death Valley.  Just an all around great helmet and very comfortable in just about all possible conditions. :2vrolijk_21:

Has anyone tried to use a SENA SMH10 with the Nolan N104?  I did an internet search  and saw one response where they said they had to change the speaker size in the lining and also cut the plastic on the bottom to mount it.  Several of us are using the SENA and I would like to keep us compatible.

i just put a 5908. miles in a 2 wks trip on this helmet. great helmet nice air flow.my head measures 23-1/2"   23-1/4 is a large so i went to a XL fits perfect. i had a N103 large and it was way too tight. bluetooth works great with my GPS and phone together.
