2012 seats?
« on: December 07, 2011, 08:28:06 AM »

How comfortable are they? The seat on my 2010 is comfortable but I was wondering if there was a difference in the newer ones. i know several people with the Hammock seat and they like it. Is there a difference between the SE seat and the Hammock?

The SE seat is a heated hammock.

I find the 2012 hammock seat to be really comfortable.
My previous bike was a 03 Heritage softail and lately I could not ride it more than 1 hour at the time because I developpoed a fragile butt over the years. One month ago I got my 2012 CVO Ultra and on one ride I only stopped after 3 hours to put gas in the tank as I could have stayed on for more.

I just priced everything at the dealership. Almost $2000.00. Seat is $1499.00, backrest is $239.00, and passenger backrest is $300.00+. Ouch! Even with my wifes discount it would be over $1500.00

Heck for only $35K more, you can get the seat with the bike thrown in for good luck.   ::)

The seat on the Ultra is super comfortable. It is also very HOT. Rode to work Sat and it was 33 degrees when I left the house. It got hot. Almost turned it off. Well worth it if riding in the cold.

I changed my 2010 seat for a 2011 it's alot better you can see the difference. 2010 a lot flatter on newer ones they have more of a bucket.

X2 Didn't notice a difference in comfort with the new seat, but it's MUCH easier to reach the ground. My BSR and I debated whether to change the rider and passenger backrests, but decided it doesn't look THAT bad for the amount of $$$ they want for the matching parts. And the 2012 seat does look pretty nice, but it sounds even more expensive than the 2011, so I'll stick with the one I've got now.
