2011 Fairing Mirrors
« on: January 17, 2012, 01:40:52 AM »

My Inner fairing is away being painted to match the Krypto colour & have decided i want to change my mirrors from the standard black plastic that come on the Krypto to either chrome or painted black, wondering if anyone has a part no ? All I can find on moco website is the illuminated ones, thanks in advance, Paul.  :cucumber:

Paul, this may be the ticket. Fairly new from HD.

Fairing Mount Mirrors - Chrome

Add a splash of chrome to the "bat wing" inner fairing. These Fairing-Mount Mirrors de-clutter the handlebar and add a contemporary aero style to your ride. The attractive chrome housing provides a custom look, and the convex mirror and wide range of adjustment maximizes your field of view. A direct bolt-on replacement for Original Equipment fairing-mount mirrors, the kit includes the hardware and mounting template required for easy and accurate installation on other models.

56000029

Fits '96-later Electra Glide® models. Original Equipment on '12 FLHXSE models.

MSRP US $129.95

Thanks for that Eric, just what I was looking for as they will fit the existing mounts, don't know why I couldn't find them on the moco website. Cheers, Paul.

Just a thought, if you are getting the fairing painted anyway. Have your painter fill the mirror and clutch "cable" holes. I can see so much better our of my handlebar mounted mirrors. if you ever decide to change bars, the fairing mounted mirrors are useless. Also, there is no need for a clutch cable hole, your brake line doesn't go through a hole in the dash, why should your clutch line. In my opinion it cleans up the drivers area, run both clutch and brake lines down the sides of the bars. Also could have a gps mount painted at the same time if you ever use one. Here are a couple pictures.

That is a cool GPS mount, but I have a Tom Tom which has a slightly different mounting system.

Edit, misread your post.  Thought you wanted a set of flat black.

I switched to the chrome ones that are standard on the 2012's.  Big difference in aesthetics...

Painting the OEM stock mirrors looks better, IMO.  The chrome mirrors are fine, but not as visually appealing as color-matched.
