Re: iPod... if you have another iPod you can use that.... the stereo will dive you a warning if you use a hard-drive type iPod... saying damage may occur.

I've used mine with no issues.. until I pulled on the cable too hard and had to replace it.

My current iPod (nano) has been working fine for two days now no issues. Might not even unbox the one that came with the bike.

Tha Nano series is a "flash" memory... the larger ones  are not and have an actual hard drive.

iPod touch 64 GB of non volatile memory. Plenty of memory, solid state and it is like an iPhone with out the cell.
I was using a iPod video 120. But the hard drive is a bit picky on the bike. Works good hidden in the truck though.

BTW, if you are using a hard drive pod and it locks up you have two choices, let teh battery die or do a hard reset. "menu" hold and slide the switch back and forth once. Should re-boot.

My 160GB works fine in the bike. I just get the warning from the stereo display.

It will, but after a couple of jolts in a row the hard drive will lock up, to protect itself.

Yes.. mine did that on the street glide I had before my 2 RGs.. had to do with the handlebar mount. inthe saddlebad the iPod is suspended in the strap.. seems to isolate it well from road bumps. I've locked it up more riding my bicycle than on my motorcycles...  :)

In what year did Harley go from having the CVO's built individually, to having them done on assembly line, and do you think it has caused some quality issues ?

2009 was the last year of the hand built CVO's, 2010 first year of the assembly line bikes.

After thinking about it, they must have their own line, because other than the frame there's almost no parts that are innerchangable.

No, they had their own hand built line through 2009.

Since 2010 they are built on the regular assembly line.

I did a tour in 09, of the CVO line when they were hand built.

There is no special CVO line tour any more as the line no longer exists.

Ok another update. Back in this thread, 3/28/12, I mentioned I had a leaking clutch lever, an appointment with the dealer, and no real complaints up until then. Well guess what ?! Now have have some complaints. My dealer picked up my bike on April 10th and I just now got it back on May 9th, that's right, ONE MONTH LATER !! I now have a new master cylinder and clutch lever as the fluid ruined the powder coating on the lever. I still have to wait on two painted parts, the glove box lid damaged by the brake fluid and an upper fork slider or "cow bell". Which brings me to another problem. When I turn my bars all the way to the left there is a very small amount of clearance between the fork and snap on wind deflector that is on the crash/highway bar. When turned all the way to the right it makes contact causing a dent in the cow bell. I could not believe the dealer had the nerve to try and tell me that it would not be covered under warranty. WHAT !!! I'm not sure who they thought they were talking to but lets just say I wasn't going away. They suddenly changed their tune after I talked to the manager. They said they would try to correct the problem when it is apart to change the out the new piece. I'll let you guys know how that works out.

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

I've looked at the deflectors but they are still in a box in my closet.
