Slow Starting
« on: July 11, 2006, 12:52:08 PM »

Sorry if this is a rehash but...

I had a PCIII installed on my 06 SE with a custom map and now I find that my bike doesn't start as fast as it used to. Before the PCIII, I barley hit the start button and she fired imedately. After the PCIII, I hit the starter button and she turns over a few times before starting.. I've played with the Cranking Fuel Delivery feature on the PCIII and finally called the tech at Power Commander and he said:

He said that this problem has only been reported on 2006 models, and they have no idea what's causing the slow startup response. They can't duplicate it on any of their test bikes.

So unfortunately, he said they don't have a fix for it, but to watch their website. As soon as they have a fix, it will be posted there, probably with a new software version download.

He suggested setting the engine revolutions to 500, the max. I said I thought 500 revolutions seemed like a lot... like it was several seconds of cranking time, and he seemed to think it would go by pretty fast.

My question is.. has anyone else run into this problem and may what did you do to over come it or are you just living with it?

Thanks.
