That is a nicer solution - Looks like they built in a dB booster to amplify the signal, hence the power connections.

The original hidden antenna has a power requirement too. The old one has a straight antenna where this new one has the curled up ends.
What is the difference in cost?

Has anyone tried this antenna?   Does it work and get reception?  I'd like to hear if there are any opinions out there.

I was asking the parts guy about this one yesterday - since it is new.  He had a customer that just installed it, and said it was a huge improvement over the old antenna.  I placed one on order yesterday.

Why not just put the antenna on the tour pack when its in use and in the original position when not in use? I have a detachable tour pack and I just take the antenna off the bike and put it on the tour pack and it works fine. When not using the tour pack the antenna is in the original position on the bike. Both positions work fine.

Hey Two Toes, I'd like to do that but haven't figured out how to make the antenna relocation kit work.  Can you share some pic's & advice as to how you made that work with the tour pack?

I've got it on & had the opportunity to use it a couple of times, and I'm sad to report it's not as good as advertised.  Yes it's better than the MoCo's first attempt with a hidden antenna, but the shorty antenna is much better & still the way to go.

I have the Tune Trapper in there now.  Not great but it's okay.   Guess I'll just leave that in there for now. :nixweiss:

Bikerdude 1018 I just unscrew the short antenna from the post on the rear fender and screw it into the post on the back of the tour pack. Then I unscrew the antenna cable from the underside of the post on the rear fender and run it to the inside of the tour pack and screw it into the post on the tour pack. No modifications were required to the bike or the tour pack. I'll try and take some pics and post them.
