oil leak
« on: March 01, 2012, 04:57:53 PM »

Hey guys, I need some help. I just put my motor back togeather after a cam change and I have a leak from my pushrod tubes. I installed S&S quickie install pushrods. The orings were new and dry. I had this problem before and couldnt get it to stop and had to take it to the stealer. I really want to be able to fix this my self. Any ideas as to what to look for???
Thanks

Can't see it so can't have anything more than a general response.  That being so; the general response has to be take it apart and try again being very careful that everything is where and how it should be.  There's not that much to mess up in a pushrod tube.

Are you sure you got the old o-rings out both top and bottom?

The orings were new and dry.

I put oil on the top and lower o-ring before assembling. Minimizes risk of pinching.

:2vrolijk_21:  Unless the instructions specifically say to install them dry, I always lube O-rings on anything.

Good catch.  Unfortunate it was on the second try but good catch nonetheless.  Now it's time to enjoy the ride :2vrolijk_21: .
