oil cooler
« on: March 07, 2012, 06:58:08 PM »

Has anyone put a oil cooler on a 2010 that does not hang on the side of the down tube? All the ones I can find are horizontal mount and can't use because of fairing.

CVO 1717, just FYI...this site does have search engine.  Before starting a whole new thread, if you merely scrolled through the Fat Bob threads... on page FOUR, you would have found a thread labeled "Installed Fat Bob Oil Cooler".  Because, we're friendly around here, I thought I'd spoon feed you.  Check out, http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=45352.0

I gave you hard time - you're a good sport.  I understand not wanting to remove the spoiler in order to accommodate an oil cooler.  The rider ryr8828dj never posted a close-up pic of his spoiler in which he had screens installed - that's the same barrel type spoiler that I have, but you can see an angled view from a fair distance at link: http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=35274.0

If you get something accomplished, please post some pics.  Good Luck.

The chin spoiler, in the above pic, is the prototype.  It has been modified twice since then.  The original design used pop riviots on the front which caused dimpeling on the face.  The final design has no pop riviots showing making the face look more like the stock spoiler.

The idea of the screens is to limit on coming air flow allowing the fan to pull air through the screens when it is needed.

ryr8828dj, sounds fantastic!  Thank you for chiming in here.  I (and I'm sure others) would appreciate if you could find some time this spring to snap a close-up our your spoiler and post it up here.
