I have a "security clearance" ID issue by TSA and Homeland Security(TWIC card). I have yet to go through an airport where that ID is recognized.
Same here, I love to point out it is issued by the people they work for.

Does this ID works on the road as well?

Assuming you don't mind spending another $100 each time you go through an airport, you will now have the opportunity to bribe pay a fee to avoid those nasty plebeian checkpoints and those lecherous gropers.  The airlines will be able to nominate their favorite customers for special security treatment under a new TSA program.  Funny how folks with more money are automatically assumed to be less likely to be a terrorist.  How many millions did Osama have squirrelled away?

I wonder if you can carry on knives and handguns as long as you pay another extra fee?  Seems to be the American way, rules are only for those who can't afford to avoid them.

It only works at facilities that know what it is.

Not sure if it is a one time fee, or an once  year fee.  I'm looking into it, as I fly way to much.  100 a year would be about 5 dollars a time I am in an airport.

The way I read the press release, it will be $100 each time.  It will also only be after the airline "nominates" you and Homeland Security approves you.  I assume this program will be mostly for high rollers, Congressmen, and other "too big to be bothered" types.  You know, like the "too big to fail" BS, only different.  The little grannies who fly from Minnesota to Florida each winter and back in the spring need not apply, they will still be subject to having their Depends groped.

So far the indications I am getting from the company I work for and my first inquiry into this is, it is an annual fee.  The Air line I use most the time is also one of the two pilot airlines in the program.  Just finished with the global entry.
