I'm not for sure if any of the stock bikes have it. Harley did mine in 2011 and they had added the divider just after the fuse block. Can't say for sure but I think it was brown carbon color. Looked much like a balast resistor that Mopar used.

I just randomly grabbed one of the heated grip kit's installation PDF from the P&A website and found no resistor illustrated there either.

A couple of things to consider:  The old style HD heated grips were notorious for being big pieces of chit.  Yes, they got very hot (maybe too hot, thus the common failures).  That's why a bunch of us who had the early style grips, and a lot of people who wanted to add heated grips, went to the Heat Demons...they worked.  Just a guess, but perhaps the resistor was added to improve longevity.  The grips on my '11 get plenty hot enough for me.  We'll see how long they last.

Up here in Wisconsin it's nice to have the extra heat.  Mygrips on my 06 were nice and warm on days like today high 40's.  Grips on my 12 were not warm enough to keep my hands warm :(

My grips om 06 don't work either, where exactly would I access that accessory fuse to check it?

My bet is that it's not a fuse on the '06 grips.  Most of them failed eventually.  Mine failed within the first year and I went to Heat Demons rather than let the HD "techs" screw around with the internal wiring in my bars.

On my new 12 CVO Ultra the grips work but do not get real warm.  Warm enough to take the cold bit off but could be warmer.
