It Died
« on: March 30, 2012, 10:06:16 PM »

I had a first happen and hopefully a last happen last night. The wife and I were out riding, I slowed at a traffic light to check for on coming traffic and when I went to speed up the bike wouldn't. With the throttle wide open no speed, when I was able to pull over and released the throttle it was like the battery cable was disconnected engine stopped and everything went off. In less than a minute the lights came back on I hit the starter and it came back to life. No problems today. Has anyone had this happen?
BTY its a 09 FLTRSE3.

How Snug/Clean your battery cable connections are can be deceiving ...

Remove them, clean them with ? chemical / wire brush ...

Re-attach using socket (vs screwdriver) ... without striping

White corrosion can grow between the contact point(s) but not be seen until you take it apart, if seen at all ... it doesn't take much ...

But everybody knows that ...

Good Luck

Should be done more often than not. Like was said doesn't take much to cause a problem.

I just had to replace my battery on my 2009. Could be getting close to that time.
