2009 FXDF-SE transformation

I have just about completed transformation of my 2009 FXDF-SE.  I converted it to mid-controls and the usual pipe and map previously but I now have finished the rest of the upgrades.  It now has the Screamin' Eagle custom paint from HD, full race tech front suspension, 18" PM contrast cut Luxe wheel and works shocks.  It rides and handles better than ever.

Can you tell me if the foot pegs still hurt your handling or with the mods did it help?  What size tire are you running now in front and back?

I normally a big fan of the stock look and especially not partial to the 2-1 exhaust but I'm impressed with what you've done.  Looks really good.  The only other thing that I think would really work is to lose the 2-up seat for a solo.

That is my next project.  I am just waiting for the chance to ride it to Corbin to have a seat made to match the new style.  That is why there is a micro fiber towel under the back of the seat.  The checkered paint runs the lenght of the rear fender.  I also plan to make a billet support for the belt gard so I can remove the rear pegs.  I will suppy updated pictures when it is finished.

Reply to GreatGazoo.  The mid controls provide me with better balance but I have never liked forward controls.  I test rode the SE and a regular Fatbob with mid controls before I purchased it.  If I could not have converted it to mid controls I would never have purchased it.  I have always had bikes, past and present with my pegs underneath me.  The conversion was worth every penny.  As to the tire sizes, 130/70-18 front and 180/55-18 rear which has provided a more responsive turn in and a little extra ground clearance which has been helpful.  Here is a picture of my Buell which may help to explain my style

Well Landshark I like your style ......Love the Buell as well...think we are in the same ballpark

I like what you did and it is clear the 18 inchers add some height. This would also allow for some ricer sticky tires in those sizes. The mid controls are higher too..... hmmmm.... me thinks more mods coming my way. 
The suspension work is most likely what  I am going after next. Have to burn off the tires now that I just put them on.  :P

You are more than welcome GreatGazoo.  The other thing I did, which you might want o consider, is a changed the compensating sprocket.  I put on one which is 3 teeth less which really makes the bike jump.  This bike is always a joy to ride and I don't think I will ever part with it.  I hope you are able to make yours everything you want it to be.

Landshark....

Today I went for a ride and took it all the way up to where she had no more and alas the wobble is gone.  Cornering and handling are like night and day compared to what it was prior to changing the bearing. 
Finally it handles and rides like it should YEAH!!!!!!!!!!
