Pirelli Night Dragon Tires. Opinions?
« on: May 05, 2012, 10:04:29 PM »

My 2004 needs a new set of shoes and was looking for something other than the stock Dunlops. Has anyone have any feedback on the Pirelli Night Dragons? I went to the Pirelli website and according to their site, "unfortunately no tyre available"! [damn Europeans!]

I checked the J&P Cycles catalog and see they do have sizes available that seem to fit:

Fronts
MH90B21 54H

Rears
180/60B17 75V
180/60B17 81H

I assume I would want the V rated over the H?

Any opinions on the ride, stopping power and which rear tire (that's spelled with an "i"!) you're riding?

Thanks.

I had them on my Night Train and loved them. A buddy has them on his '05 Ultra and he's very happy with them as well.

As I assume by the thousands of thread replies, 99% of all Deuce owners must be still running their stock OEM Dunlops (or something else?).
So I guess by default, I just became a bad-ass "1% 'er" by picking up a set of Night Dragons!

Got them installed this past weekend and initial feel is MUCH better than the stock Dunlop 502 tires. They hold better in the twisties and the ride is nicer too. Going over highway segments, the Night Dragons are much more forgiving and absorb the shock. The Dunlops tended to bounce/skip the bike as if it were a complete hard tail. I sometimes wonder if I was actually catching air!

Tread life still TBD but overall, I am also a happy camper with the new tires. Highly recommend them and for fellow Deuce owners, we all know there's not a whole lotta options out there so I'm glad SOMEONE is still making stuff for this bike and its actually good stuff!

Glad to hear you like them. My buddy referenced above with the Ultra just put them on his Fatboy as well and love's 'em on that as well.

Hiya mate
I have Pirelli Night Dragons on my ride and have just done over 7000 klms on them
Am hoping to get another 3000 klms out of them before replacing
Great handling in the wet and cornering is good
Hope this helps mate

When I had my VROD , these tires were the first recommendation. They had a more tight grip on wet roads

I have a 05 RoadKing with 18" wheels and I put Night Dragons on about 2,500 miles ago and think it was a great idea so far they handle great and show no wear .
