Picked up the VROD this afternoon, after lighting a fire under some a$$es at the dealer to get the stuff done they've had three days to do!!
This bike is a perfect fit for me!! The riding position is like my feet are almost on hiway pegs, the seat is very comfortable, the handlebar position is absolutely dead-on...leaning ever so slightly forward, but pretty much upright. The bike is smooth as silk, shifts with a click, and the brakes will stop on a dime. It feels different, because the rake on the front end is a totally different thing than the Ultra (obviously), but once I got used to how it felt by doing some tight turns in the dealer parking lot, felt completely comfortable. Took her out on some highways, not interstate, some local backroads, through some neighborhoods, getting a feel for how she handled. She is perfectly balanced...when you put her in a curve, she will hold a line with very little additional input on the bars. I could NOT be more pleased with the way this bike feels, runs, and SOUNDS...put the SE pipes on her with the K&N filter, and download...very, very nice sound...not loud, but a deep throaty roar when you romp a bit. I put 50 miles on her, not going over 4K RPM, the next 450 will be at 5500, but just taking it there briefly is an unreal experience.
This is a match made in Heaven!!
