It will, I keep mine at 4.  Remember if you pull Maxie Fuse or disconnect the battery, the system will reset to 2.

Crawdaddy-Thanks for the heads up on the battery disconnect and the radio resetting to 2..  I just had my battery disconnected and did not reset volume control.  With the Hogtunes, I was turning down the volume anyway.

Yeah, I never needed it until the Hawg Wired system was added.  Isn't that great?  I love my radio now, and my satellite input had to be turned down to match up with the CD.  Money well spent in my opinion.

Bob: Peterson's run:  No  :(.  Just tooo much going on.  We've never done that run, seems like we're usually on vacation around mid-Sept... except for this year.  Have fun! (like I have to tell you that) [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

It's funny how some folks study things like owner's manuals as if there was going to be a test, and others never open them at all.

Jerry,
I think I've found another twin brother by a different mother. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] I to am anal about reading manuals. I will read them from cover to cover so I will know how to operate all the functions. My theory is I paid for all the bells and whistles why not know how to operate them. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] On the other hand my wife is the exact opposite she will bring stuff to me to find out how to work it. Wish I could figure out how to get her to read instructions you'll have to give me your secret on getting better half to read them.

I actually have an extra copy located in my "library" just for that reason.  I ordered an extra one for the CUSE at least a month before she was delivered so I wouldn't be totally stupid the first time I got on it.  I'm still finding things in the manual I didn't know.

Loose Goose,

If someone has not answered already it is very simple. If you still have your Owner's Manual.

In the Index go to Premium Sound System, in mine, page 9 in the index. You will see a heading Automatic Volume Control, in my manual it is on page 106 .

If you do not have the manual. Push and hold any two buttons on the front panel, turn switch to Ignition or ACC.

Up comes the first Diagnostic Screen, then

On my '06, with the radio on,

Press IN the volume button on the left grip, the display on the radio will change to Fade, Treb, Bass, Vol and AVC (maybe one more I think).  Keep pressing the volume button until AVC is highlighted.  Then press the volume button up or down to scroll through the AVC choices, 1-4 or is it 0-4...

Rattling the original thread,  I set mine to 4, then ended up putting it back to 2.  Seems with my bad ears I have it turned up loud already, and the AVC at 4 just ramps it up faster than it did at 2. Found myself getting surprised at fairly low speeds! :o  Plus, when I turn my radio waaay up, it starts to cut out, like the radio amp can't handle the HawgWired speakers.  Next step will be the HW amp [smiley=nervous.gif]
So, I'm a 2 with a quick thumb.  And like Otophile says, the whole thing cost me nothing!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

[smiley=confused5.gif]Correct me if I am wrong, but doesnt AVC only determine the volume at a lower speed. You are not actually increasing the maximum volume, only how low the volume goes when you slow down.

I thought it increased the volume to compensate for ambient noise around scooter. As wind/motor noise got louder the volume would increase to compensate. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
