Thanks everybody...the seat is VERY comfortable...supports my a$$ much better, plus provides some additional support for your lower thighs when in the riding position withe the forward controls.  Also gives some lower back support, and like Dood says, keeps you on the bike when you twist the throttle...very much needed with this scooter, as it will pin you back there and you better hold on.

V...I do think the chrome adds something with the charcoal/silver flake fender.  I've got the last piece to put on...a billet license plate frame.  Will be adding that tomorrow night, then I'm done with the OCD on this bike for a while...at least until my made to fit piece of luggage comes in this week  ;)  Got to have a way to carry something back and forth to work, as there are occasions in my job when the bike boots just don't go well with the tie I have to wear on occasion   [smiley=hanged.gif]

TC,
The bike looks great! Love the seat and back rest. My new seat is suppose to be here today. I'll post a pic if I get a chance to install it tonight.

I ordered the "Tall Boy" seat. It just arrived via UPS about 30 minutes. Can I go home now?? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Chit! way too much to do today, I'll get the pics on tonight.

From the pics in the catalog, that looks like a nice seat...can't wait to see the photos. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Yeah...I rode the bike in to work today...gonna be 101 here, which means about 110 down here around all this concrete and steel...I'm either going to leave early or late...sitting in traffic on a V is a very, very bad thing...when that fan comes on, it's like a friggin giant hair dryer  :o :o :P :P  It'll feel good this winter though.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]  The bikes no hotter than my 103 though, it's just the 103 radiates the heat up constantly while you sitting still, rather than having that fan kick on and blow it back on you...whew!!

The seat shouldn't take you long...are you having to put the plate on, and the pillion?

Sorry Ed...I see you have the case rack, which serves the same purpose as the baseplate.  By the way, I like that look a lot too.  I think that new seat you're getting moves you back and up a couple of inches, doesn't it?  That will make a big difference!!

Here is a the new seat, it's wider and moves the seating position back an 1-1/2". Feels good but I'm not sure of the look. it's not as sleek as the factory SE seat. Not sure if I'm going to keep it. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Terry,
I went back and compared the look of your bike to mine. Your bike looks awesome with the new wider seat and back rest. I left the office for a couple of hours and after thinking about it I think mine doesn't look as good because I have a smaller rear tire, only a 180, tire envy. Also I think the combination you have fits the bike better. I love the small back rest with the stock seat but with the wider seat something doesn't look right.

Ed...I think the seat looks great on the bike, and if it gives you more leg room, and you need it, serves a practical purpose as well.  Actually, I think mine looks better with the stock seat too, but comfort wise, the Sundowner has it beat, not to mention the passenger comfort.  The wider tire/fender on mine does "soak up" the wider pillion to some extent, but honestly, your bike probably handles better because of the 180.  Do you ride two up very often, or travel distances on the ROD?  The main thing that made me get the new seat/backrest was passenger considerations...the rack is strictly practical, just turned out not looking too bad.  Actually, I prefer the look of your rack.  Guess it's all a compromise and whether you can live with it.

See...you need to be a maniac like me and have TWO CVO bikes  ;D ;)

Terry,
I wanted the new seat for the leg room and comfort for myself and the GF. I don't ride two up very often but the stock seat isn't the best for any distance. When I went 2 weeks ago I put on about 250 miles and I paid for it for the next couple of days. My a$$ was killing me with the stock seat. I think I'll leave it on and go for a long ride this week end. I want to head up into Vermont along Rt.5 and I'll check out the comfort level. Also the seats are so easy to switch it really isn't any problem to change them, you know, if I want to put it up against Vgirls in a competition. ;D

I am looking forward to being a 2 CVO "maniac" like you, the GF explained to me the other day that we'll need a long distance bike, and without prompting she said that we'll need to keep the V because it's a great run around ride. I knew she was a keeper. ;) Although marrige may have to come first before I can make another investment like that.

So sooner or later the second CVO will come along.

Agreed, Ed...the seats change out fast, so if you want that lean, mean, sexy machine look, you can always switch it back to stock.  The stock seat for a passenger is not much different than riding on the fender   ;D  My GF took a short ride on it with me, and said she's got to have something else.  She has been spoiled by the CUSE though, but it's OK to spoil your woman, if she's a "keeper".  Suzanne loves the bikes as much as I do, and also likes the idea of having the traveling bike and one for just cruising/running around, so having both is a nice luxury.

Did you check out Boston103's Cherry [smiley=cherry.gif] ?...THAT is a nice one and would make a perfect stable mate to your VROD   ;) [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Or a brand spanking new 07 Red/Black CUSE2...you would earn big points with her for getting her a throne like that, with the tunes and everything.  I have to hold Suzanne down sometimes on the back, 'cause she's back there rockin' and rollin' to the XM or the CD I made called "Bike Tunes".  She's a bad influence on my already bad OCD, bringing me cold ones while I'm working on the bikes, or detailing them, and pitching in to help too.  I think she's a keeper too, and at my age, they're gettin' hard to find, bro.

Enjoy your ride this weekend, and let me know how the seat works out for you and your sweetie  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

You guys may also want to take a look at the bag HD makes to fit the setup I have...nice piece of luggage that fits like a glove on the rack/backrest/sissybar combo I have installed.
