Yaffee Bars or Wild 1 575's?
« on: June 21, 2012, 06:10:02 PM »

I was getting ready to install the 575's on my FLHXSE3 when I saw a Krypto FLHXSE2 on here with Yaffee Bars that looked just killer.  My question is: Has anyone tried both bars and what are the pro's and con's to each?  I looked at Yaffee's site and I believe the 10" would be like an inch taller than the 575's, which would be OK for me.  Also wondering about the hand angle position on the Yaffee's?  I've had 575's before and they are good bars.  I'm sure that both are much improved over the stock bars.  Any hands on knowledge of the Yaffee Bars would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ryan

I went with the 575s. I have them on my 04.  Love em.  Had to get one for the new bike. I'll have em on the bike next week. You won't be sorry with those.   :2vrolijk_21:

Rode the wife's bike today with the 575's and felt pretty good.  Set on a SG at the Harley shop yesterday that had HD 12in hangers on it a I liked it just wished the grips would have been turned in a little more.  One of my buddies ended up buying that bike.

Can't speak for the 575's, but I am very happy with the yaffes. They aren't 10", just 8".  I didn't want to be much higher than stock. I like the angle of the grips and they seem to be a bit wider than stock as well.

Do the 8" keep the hands behind the Batwing?

I have tried 575's on a Ultra Classic. I have now installed 12" Yaffe bars on my Street Glide. Bike is really well set up with the Yaffe bars for me any way. A lot of work to Install but well worth the effort....

HD Kid, with the 8" do you have to change mirrors or just personal preference.  I'm thinking of changing my bars out on my 2012 FLHX but want to leave the fairing mounted mirrors.

Judging by his pics it look like he opted for a new inner fairing. No mirror mount holes.

I'm not exactly sure how long the wait was because my wife got em for me last Christmas. But when I had called to check on em the summer before, they told me 6-10 weeks.

Yes your hands are still well behind the fairing. That's why I went with the 8"

I chose to do away with the mirrors, You could leave the fairing mirrors, but the bars would be in the way really bad. Probly bad enought to make them useless. The mirrors I have are yaffe power mirrors I think. While they look good, they're really to small for my prefrance. Ordered em online and they were smaller than I thought. I'll probly try to find a little bit larger low profile mirror. From what I've read on here and other places, even the 10" monkey bars get in the way of the fairing mirrors too.

Thanks for the info that helps alot.  Looks as if the 12's are the way to go unless I want to change the mirrors.

After reading alot of diff posts about bars and riding several bikes with diff handlebars I went with 14 wild ones. I to wanted to keep my fairing mounted mirrors. Love the feel on long trips, no shoulder pain like the stock bars and went with kuryaken hand iso hand grips, wow what comfort.

I put on the  Yaffee 10" and seeing your 8's makes me wish I had the 8's. oh well I'm used to the 10's now.I also have those mirrors, kinda small, I think Arlen Ness makes a simular mirror.Just a mite bigger.
