Overview

This super-premium touring motorcycle is fully equipped and stylishly appointed. New features for 2013 include the chrome and rubber Slipstream Collection heated hand grips, rider and passenger footboard inserts, brake lever pad, shifter and highway pegs and windshield trim. The suspended, dual-control heated, two-up seat and adjustable passenger backrest have a new perforated leather insert. A new chrome billet-style extended reach heel shifter creates more boot room on the left-side footboard. The CVO Ultra is equipped with a high-performance Harman/Kardon® Advanced Audio system that includes BOOM!™ Audio High Performance BOOM! Bagger™ speakers. Four new color combinations are available, including the 110th anniversary scheme.

A highlight of each 110th Anniversary Edition model are solid bronze fuel tank badges, plated in black nickel and then distressed to highlight the bronze. A bright gold-tone Bar and Shield cloisonné is inserted in the main body of the "single wing" badge while each motorcycle will carry other model-specific anniversary badging, trim and a serialization badge.

Looks like no mechanical changes at all for the 2013 CVO Ultra. Just some slightly different paint schemes and a cool $1000 bump if you want the 110 Anniversary paint and emblems.

On the bright side, the MoCo's R&D team did deliver a new extended rear shifter arm. Neat!!

Unless I absolutely HAD to have the 110 Anniversary, I would quickly track down any dealer with a 2012 leftover CVO Ultra and try to get one for $2000 under MSRP. Given the lack of changes for 2013, you'd be getting a great deal.

I did last week. Got a cool 3800.00 off MSRP and no B/S extras. They even knocked off 200.00 on a 5 year extended warranty to boot!!!!! I'm glad I did. I had a little birdie tell me about the new 2013 models and the very few changes!!!!

Both baggers I've owned I've changed out to the extended heel shifter. Bakers does a helluva job making one for the CVO line

Is there something different about the anniversary models besides the paint? I noticed that the weight is different, 8 pounds heavier dry - 21 pounds in running order, but can't figure out why.

IMO... HD missed the boat on this.. Since they eliminated the SESG from the line up they should have gone all out on the SEUC with extended saddle bags & the SG rear end. Many who have SESG add the tour pack anyway. This would give the guys the option of buying a SEUC and then strip it down to a look like a SESG.

Can't argue with that. Give it the bigger SESG wheels while you're at it, too. Those changes might have given me a second or two of regret about buying a '12 and not waiting, or make me consider a trade already. But instead, it's just paint .... again.

Has anyone been able to resolve this discrepancy? 21 #'s is a lot of weight for some badges.

edit: It seems the overall length is 1" longer as well.

For flames, which I'm generally not a huge fan of, those look pretty good. Not overdone.

I wonder if that weight/length difference is a misprint...otherwise those are some heavy azzed badges.

I wondered about the badges too but that wouldn't change the running weight. Maybe it comes with a case of beer in each saddlebag to help ease the pain in the wallet

My dealer is back at the showing and sent me some pics and I asked him about the difference in length, weight and even the compression ratio is different, he asked on the of platform engineers and they said it was a typo, that the regular cvo and the anniversary one are the same weight, length, and compression ratio.

That's a major screw up on someone's part. Imagine having to load your truck and not having the correct length & weight!

They already did that many years ago as a cost savings measure. All these "typo's" are nothing new, I've been seeing them on Harley spec sheets and manuals for many years now. Obviously they brought in a new batch of technical writers from the generation that types only with their thumbs and seldom looks at accuracy.

My dealer waited to put them on after I bought the bike so that they'd be set up where I wanted them. This would help in avoiding another set of scratches on the bars where the clamps used to be located!

I wouldn't waste 5G's just to have it first.
There will be more and not all will the price be jacked.

When I was there they had not taken delivery of their CVO's yet. Brad was one of the few who would actually search for one for me (Brad= former Schoch's salesman, along with one of the mechanics and Troy in parts).

I was there picking up my CVO RGU from warranty work on the outer primary cover peeling chrome and defective NIM. They did put the chrome inner primary on for free ( had to get parts from rebecca at Tri County). NIM still aint working right.
I've bought 5 bikes from Mitchells, they gave me 3k off my RUSE and no setup fee. They figure they can sell the CVO's without discounting. Have a friend looking at that maroon one, but, his 06 ultra just scissored the flywheel and is waiting on ESP to cover it. They told me they would discount on the 2 12's they have, didnt know it was only 2400.00. Have heard others getting 3500-5000 off msrp. Good luck in your search, It's worth the wait!

Yeah Rdawg, the people seem nice, especially Lydia in financing. I have no problem with them getting the going price, I just have to get a better deal (like you did) for me to jump in. I'll keep checking for the 2012 CVO Ultra, but I'll come at the end of the month and a couple of hours before closing to try and get the right deal.

O'tooles HD in wurtsboro had one till I got there today. I pick it up tomorrow. Drove 800 miles on vacation to get it. Can't wait to pick it up.

I finally made the move to a CVO. I trade in my 2009 Heritage Classic for a brand new FLHTCUSE8 Tribal orange.... Got it Thursday afternoon. So far I am in love! I bought a few extras that are going to be installed later (detachable tour pack kit, FLHX seat, antenna relocation in the fairing, extra speakers for the lower fairing,...).

I am still getting use to be sitting 'on' the bike instead of being 'in' the bike (my feeling)!

Thanks gentlemen.... yes the picture doesn't reflect reality.... it was taken with my I-Phone.... it is way better in person. Even my 80 years old mother is in love with it

Rode to Daytona, yesterday. Rossmeyers had a 2013 titanium dust Ultra Classic. Looked good with all older CVO's they had for sale. Salesman said $44,000, Wow! He said they hard to come by!

Maybe they should list on Ebay for around $50K as they are hard to come by!

I felt the same way....I chose the maroon....That's just me. I didn't particularly like the looks of the anniversary after I saw them both in the sun.

Drove to Delaware from Maryland because the dealer had the anniversary and the maroon in stock. They were sitting together in the showroom and the maroon was the clear winner.....got a good deal and a good trade on my '06!

Rawhide hd in Olathe ks has one of each plus the ann. Don't know price but could give them a call the owner of it also owns thunder mountain harley and one other so they may be able to ship it closer to someone if they really need one.
