Bassani Power Curve
« on: July 28, 2004, 05:13:54 PM »

[smiley=confused5.gif] I was wondering if anyone out there has any thoughts on the Bassani Powercurve Exhaust Header ???  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] I am trying to make up my mind on which Exhaust to go with.... I like the look of their Header pipe and not sure what slip on to go with...... Anyway as always, your feedback is greatly noted and appreciated.  [smiley=beerchug.gif] Ride On.............

Had them on my road king till I changed to a white bros 2 into 1 which was way better.  The shop was able to tune it on my 95in motor 82hp and 87trq with sampsom exhaust.  Don't have the dyno sheet but it was a nice curve with air/fuel @ 13% and got 43mpg.   [smiley=1syellow1.gif]

I'm kind of partial to the 2-into-1 Exhaust, running a thunderheader with K&N Highflow Air Cleaner and Power Commander III. Just under 99 HP and 98 FPT.  For what it's worth [smiley=drink.gif]

Glave,

I have been running a Vance & Hines 2:1 Pro Pipe, have 95' c/w SE251 Cams, SE Flat Top Pistons Cast, SE Heads flowed by SHort Block Charlie.

Just dynod bike yesterday HP 98.0; Torque 104.6 lb. ft.

After dyno may look at other choices for exhaust sustem as their was a slight dip in HP at apprx 2490 RPM more than likely due to the 2:1 exhaust, same has been noted with Thunderheader and other 2:1.

Maybe can improve by playing with my HD Race Tuner, but do not want to enrich it to much.

My .02 cents worth.

i have the power curve, with the basanni hi output slip on's.
they are not too loud when cruising, and have a mean sound when i stomp on it.
i have not had it dyno'd yet, but i can feel an increase in power over the v&h wide ovals i had on it.
the 103 motor seems to work better with a real free flowing exhaust.
the rhineharts work well, but i am not crazy about the looks.
the thunderheader, and v&h propipe only make marginal gains over the power curve.
i like the look and sound of the true duals.
i am really impressed with the quallity of the basanni's.
