did i get lucky and found the right combination
« on: August 30, 2012, 07:10:56 PM »

install the new hayden tensioner in primery and i notice my hot at idle oil pressure about 32   running goes up to 40 which i was running after my rebuild of motor  but presure would drop  down to 8-10 at idle  hot
when i did rebuild i did add LMR Oil Pressure Spring lmr-002 and there bybass valve/ Baisley Hi-Performance and zipper  Red Shift® Cam Chain Tensioners - Fits all 2007-up
i also drilled out the breathers so oil would flow better
2011 cvo ultra road glide
all input welcome
thanks gabe

Changing the primary chain tensioner wouldn't have any affect on the oil pressure one way or the other Gabe.  If you mean the idle oil pressure with your latest oil pump and bypass valve spring was running around 10 psi and it suddenly changed to 32 psi, I'd be more inclined to believe your oil pressure sending unit was stuck.  But there is a relatively easy way to make sure, install a mechanics pressure gauge where the sending unit screws into the engine and see if it reads the same as the bike gauge did at idle.

You really don't want 32 psi at hot idle.  That is fairly normal for cold idle, but hot should be closer to 10 psi.

Really?  My 2012 CVO SG has 26 PSI at idle (warm) and about 40 PSI when running at higher RPM.  The bike isn't broke in yet 500-600 miles, not sure what others are seeing ?

I have about 5000 miles and oil pressure is just below dead center of the gauge at 70mph when hot.

i found my problem i put one of those live time  oil filters on my bike the one you clean and reuse
removed it and installed a reg filter oil pressure back where it belongs
