So any guesses as to:  Will the iphone5 be fully functional with the adapter on the HDPDPlus2?

I understand that the new ones won't work with the old adapters, we have a couple of docks here and they are not supposed to work for the 5s.

Apple seems to have learned from H-D the value of making folks buy new accessories each time.

Word has it the 9 to 32 pin adapter will convert the digital out of the phone to analog so as to play the music but it's been predicted to be doubtfull the ability to control the phone with external controls will work.

The people with new bmw's are all ready freaking. I'm concerned my alpine won't control it including album art & pandora I currently have with the iphone4

I was watching the news last week and they did show an adaptor that will be offered for the "old" assys..   So we should be ok.  :2vrolijk_21:

I am interested to see what the result will be with using the adapter having just installed the hdpdplus2. Worst case will be that I will have to use my current 4s for the bike when I upgrade to the 5s.

I think most are aware there is an adapter available... my question is what level of function will that adapter provide?
I am guessing it will not be 100%
Would probably be dreaming to think it would be as simple as attaching a new style iphone5 chord to the module at the round pin connector.

Any news on this yet?

Heard this in a tech broadcast day before yesterday.

Lighting to 32 pin adapters will be shipping in October... aftermarket adapters are now popping up but no description of functionality.

Even thought the initial Apple release said that the Lighting to 32 pin adapter would NOT allow ipod control (just playback) I heard an apple rep on this same tech broadcast say that the adapter will in fact allow ipod control. This is good news and keeps hope for all as it would be hard to believe all the equipment made for playback devices with the 32 pin connector would be obsolete....

Apple Store in the Vancouver Airport had the adapters a couple weeks ago.

FWIW, Apple in Tucson didn't have the adapters as of yesterday the 27th.  Best Buy said they were shipping to them today the 28th.  My understanding is everything should work, the digital-analog conversion will slow the synch process a bit.  If that's the case, should have no effect on controls.
