2011 SoftTail CVO with Rinehart Crossback exhaust
« on: September 20, 2012, 06:50:40 PM »

After waiting for TTS Mastertune to come out with their 2011 Softtail compatible tuning software, RC Cycles has installed my Rinehart Crossback exhaust and dyno tuned the bike.
I could not be any happier as I believe Steve Cole and TTS Mastertune are well worth the wait.

With the Rinehart Crossback Exhaust, Max Power went from 93.99 HP to 100.76 hp  and Max Torque went from 106.72 ft-lbs to 118.24 ft-lbs

Very nice, you gotta love Rineharts... I had them on a previous RG and loved the sound.

Runs great, sounds sounds great, makes me feel like I have a new bike again.

After all, a Harley isn't a Harley until it sounds like a Harley, right?

How about the low end, did it hurt it?

Low end was dramatically higher in both Torque and Power.  Looking at the graph results, Both Torque and HP were relatively level from the low 2,000 RPM range through approx. 5,000 range and matched at the 5,400 Rpm level then started to decline from that RPM level where at 6,000 RPMs it looks like it is approximately 15% lower in HP and Torque.

At Stock, there is a steep Hp Power and Torque climb from 2,000 RPMs to the 4,800 RPM level, then levels and very slightly declines until the 6,000 RPM level.

The Dyno graph shows a fairly level Hp and Torque from the 2,000 RPM range to the 4,800 RPM range.

Hope this helps.

Which baffles did you use? They still come with 2 sets don't they?

The pipes look awesome on your bike. I have the same bike but a 2012. The pipes  you choose are the ones I keep going back too. The reason i haven't yet is because I heard there  very loud. I have a set of rush slip ons that i just put on for now to I find a full exhaust that I'm happy with. Do you think the rinehart exhaust you got would be any louder than the rush slip ons that I'm using. I don't really want my bike any louder. Thank you

There the pipes I always wanted. Is the sound super loud, like do you think there  any louder then say slip on mufflers by Rush. Thanks

Sorry for such a late reply.
The pipes do not come with any extra baffles, just the set installed.  I do not believe Rinehart provides the extras like in the past.

As to how loud they are in comparison to slip-ons, I can't give you an answer since I do not have the opportunity to do a comparison.
I do know that these pipes are the right low throaty rumble that I prefer at idle and low speed, but do get loud enough when you give it the gas, but never obnoxious in my opinion.
They are not as loud as the ThunderHeader pipes on my FXR, but each has their pupose and characteristics, which always is a user preference decision.

Thanks, I do love the look and the sound.

No baffle options that I am aware of, just the factory default.

Here are some youtube links to hear the sound from a fellow member, skmoore22, who sent them to me and said:

I have two links that you could go visit to hear what the pipes sound like. The video really does not do the pipes justice but you can get an idea what they sound like.

He was correct, they do sound much better.  I hope this helps.

Thanks for that,

I have sent a mail to Eastern Preformance to try and order a set! (along with some other toys!)

I was strugling choosing between, the D&D Fat Cats, V&H 2into2 Big Radius and the Rinehart Crossbacks!
Now decided, the Crossbacks are for me, they look like they were made for the Convertible!

I'm sure you will be happy with them.  Don't forget to give us your own feedback once you have then installed.

When I had mine installed, the bike also had a Mastertune Dyno at the same time, and I could not be any more satisfied with the results.

Hi BlueIce,
Can you please tell me what seat you are using on your Convertible? looks narrower than my stock seat!
Thanks,
Charlie

I went to Corbin and had them custom make the solo seat that duplicated the exact leather pattern of the stock Harley seat.

Visually, the Corbin looks like the Harley seat but does not have the little metal Harley logo plate in the middle of the seat.

The Corbin seat is totally comfortable, unlike the stock Harley seat, and also has the back rest which also follows the same leather pattern style but gives you more lumbar support.

The Harley seat was good up to an hour's ride for me, but with the Corbin seat, I can do long distance out of state rides without any of the typical comfort issues that typically plague a rider.
